ok what do I do next

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

No blinking lights. It does not have a display to show any error codes.

It is about 7-8 yrs old.

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

all other functions seem fine. It just doesn't speed up in the spin cycle

it just keeps tumbling slowly one way and then the other

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

it only has a door lock light. No final spin light.

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

wondering if their is a way to test the speed control unit
as think they are quite expensive and don't want to buy
    one on spec.

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

I don't think so . If it is it's very slow and then when the spin
cycle is almost finished it advances quickly to the final
slow tumble back and forth for a couple of minutes then
    advances to off,

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

is that the same as speed control. Attached to the bottom
right rear when viewed from the front? anyway ro test it?

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

Yes I was when I replaced the back half of the tub
with the bearings. Everything was working fine for
a week or so . Anyway I'll check it all again and try
it one more time. If it still doesn't spin high speed
I guess I'll have to buy the board. Would have been
better to buy a new machine as now the parts have
cost me almost as much.Win some lose some I
    guess.Anyway thanks for the help.

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

Yes I will take it out after the next cycle if it's still not working
which I believe will be the case. You can Email me direct
[email protected] if you think of anything else

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

Yes and no. As good as it gets I guess

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

Ok thanks but since I live in Canada the shipping might be costly.
I'll check prices locally and go from there

  • vancej Mar 06, 2011

Just checked their website. They do not ship internationally

Will the final spin light come on?

Will the final spin light come on?

  • Anonymous Mar 06, 2011

Changing out the bearings and shocks tells me we had a lot of vibration going on in there....not unusual for some type of electronics to go bad. Solder joints, wires, wiring connections etc.

Looks as if the speed control unit may be bad.

    Let me check further.....

When it is suppse to be in high speed is the timer advancing?

  • Anonymous Mar 06, 2011

That is the next step if the timer is advancing

  • Anonymous Mar 06, 2011

    Sorry.buddy....print indicates Motor control unit.
Everything else works....timer is advancing, speed switch is made (open)
    Only thing left.....Motor control unit

  • Anonymous Mar 06, 2011

Not unless you can jump out the circuit on the board....but we would need the schematic for the board to do that.

Here is the link to the part you need. You can get to it by taking off the back panel....should be on the left hand side when facing the back.Lower left hand corner.

    Click on the link http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdir...

Part number four on the drawing

  • Anonymous Mar 06, 2011

You were back there working right? Check all the wire connections back there

  • Anonymous Mar 06, 2011

I hate giving bad news like this.....I'll continue to check the print....but I dont see how we can check the board.....Maybe take it out and look at it....look for burnt marks....broken solder joints.

Repairclinic.com has a 1 year no questions asked return policy on all of their parts. They are a little pricey but you cant find that type of warranty anywhere. Even if your machine goes down again in the next year, and you buy a new one....send the board back with receipt and get your 100% refund.

Everytime i hit a little bump my tured sqweaks an it knocks around the front tire. I dont know if its my bearings or ball joint or if i need new shocks. Can some one help pin point the issue.

  1. Shock absorbers (shocks) dampen out the spring motion. Go to each corner of the car and "bounce" the car. If it goes down, up, and stop,s the shock absorber at that corner is OK. If it goes down and up any more than that, the shock is bad.
  2. Jack up one front wheel. Pull on the top of he wheel and push in the bottom, and then the reverse. Back and forth. If it moves much it could be the ball joint.
  3. Rotate the tire slow and listen for a grinding noise and try to see if the wheel is unsteady while turning. If so, the bearing needs to be replaced.
  4. If the bearing seems OK but the tire moved (step 2) you probably have a ball joint problem.

I have a gleh1642fs4 model that drum will not spin?

I have a GLEH16242 Frigidaire/Electrolux stacking washer/dryer. The main bearing went out on the washer. I did the expensive fix of replacing the outer drum/bearing assembly in hope of nothing going wrong. Everything went together well, but now it won't go into high speed spin. It does if I have no clothes in it, but as soon as I introduce clothes it only does the 'medium spin' but never advances to the high. I've changed shocks, confirmed the door switch is working properly and double checked level. Even placed it on a big thick sheet of plywood in hops of stabilizing it more. It does have a wobble to it when it starts spinning, but when it kicks into medium spin, is smooths out.

We have a Samsung 61 inch DLP tv. That started buzzing a few weeks ago when it was turned on. At first it only lasted a few seconds. Kinda sounds like a bad barring, Then this last week it began to last...

Highly likely that the sound was coming from the bearing in the color wheel assembly. When the bearing fails, the color wheel cannot spin at the correct speed, and because the speed is measured by the control board, the TV will shut down.

If you can handle a screwdriver - entire color wheel assembly can be replaced for about $100 and 30 minutes of your time.

Whirlpool Duet WFW9200SQ02 - high speed spin extremely loud!

I have the exact same washer, its also 2 years old, and this last week my bearings went bad too. I actually pulled my washer apart and replaced the stock el cheapo bearings with some better quality ones by Toyo. No, theyre not titanium, I'm a mechanic and I've never even seen titanium sealed bearings before. Not doubting they exist, but I highly doubt youll find them in any residential appliances regardless of make. Upon disassembly, I found what I believe is the issue with the seal, hair. Hair works its way to the drive shaft, slowly works its way into the seal, and then acts as a conduit for the water to enter the bearing cavity. Both sealed bearings eventually have thier grease forced out by water, and fail. This repair is time consuming, but it can save you a LOT of money. Whirlpool only sells a whole new rear tub, at a cost of $408 just for the part. I took it apart and found that the bearings are simply pressed into the steel hub on the rear tub half. I knocked them out, and a local bearings and drives shop had some replacements for me, for $20. I put it all back together, and its running fine. If you attempt this repair, make notes, and mark where everthing goes. You'll need to disassemble a substantial amount of the machine to get the tub assembly out. If youre not able to do the repairs yourself, I recommend buying a new washer, its just not worth spending $6-700 to have a shop do it.

My coleman 3 ton heat pump blows very little air

Check the blower capacitor and blower speed, you probably have a 3 or 4 speed motor make sure it's on medium high or high speed.
If these are ok then shut the power off to the indoor unit and pull the blower housing out so you can see the blower wheel, make sure it's clean and very carefully spin the wheel to see if it spins freely keep hands away from wheel while it's spinning, if it doesn't then the bearings are bad and you need to replace the motor.

When on its final spin cycle washer does not spin at its normal high speed. it is three weeks out of warranty! I can't see anything mechanically wrong, so i'm assuming it has a self destruct program! Will...

REPLACING THE CIRCUIT BOARD SHOULD BE YOUR LAST RESORT.YOU NEED TO CHECK THE MOTOR WINDINGS ON THE MAIN MOTOR IF THEY OK THAT CAN ALSO CAUSE THE MOTOR NOT TO SPIN TO ITS FULLEST ALSO CHECK YOUR CAPACITOR IS OK.GOODLUCK. MOAHMED

Load noise in final spin cycle

turn the tub on the inside if it feels ruff as it turns and makes a noise then most likely you have a bad rear bearing, if it is smooth in turning and no noise then turn to drain or spin possibly something stuck in drain pump. the drain pump will start up first if you hear the noise then the drain pump is accessed from the front lower cover, if its the rear bearing probably not worth fixing about 400.00 in parts and alot of work.
