With a timer like that , start here. Unplg it and have it in your hand. Pull up all the tabs. Push down the tabs from 7pm-6am. Now, find in the center ot the unit, the little arrow, turn till the correct time, the the right now is at the arrow. Plug in right away. As for the timer switch, timer on will work just as timer, push to outlet on will turn the lamp on manually. Also keep in mind that if the power goes you will have to realign the arrow with the actual time.

We use this at the library where I work to turn off wi-fi midnight to 6am because people who live near the library complained about wi-fi users making alot of noise at night.

SOURCE: I have set

Woods 7-day timer:
Timer dial is supposed to rotate at all times no matter if override switch is set set to ON or Timer.
Sounds like the timer is broken.

Need help programing lllwoods model 50000 indoor 24 hour mechanicl timer 2-c

Copy following link to identify timer and download possible manual:

If you have the digital timer, generally you can toggle DST back-and-forth 1 hour by pushing two buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. And then reverse the setting again by pressing and holding both buttons again.
Open link. Download manual. Look for 'daylight savings time' in manual. Read instructions.
You can unplug timer to make programming changes, since the timer has a carryover feature against power outage.
To restore functionality of a timer that no longer works, press reset button and then reprogram.

The Woods 50000 series are new line of timer introduced just before Christmas 2012.
Woods timers are warranted by Coleman/ Carol Cable/ Canadian tire, and I suspect the timer itself is made by Intermatic.
All these timers have standard 1 year limited warranty against workmanship defects.
I have not seen any complaints about this line of timers here at fixya.

I put the timer on my lamp and it stays on even if it's not the time that I set, and then it turns off when the time is up... Why does it stay on? And not go according to the timer?

For digital timer:
1) Timer is defective
2) Conflicting programming so timer does not perform as expected
3) Timer not set to correct mode.
4) Program 'off' is set correctly, but program 'on' is not set or 'on' time conflicts with other programming.
5) Current time not set correctly
6) Polarity on outlet is reversed or noise on the line. Check outlet with circuit analyzer.
7) Combination of factors listed above

Auto: timer must be set in AUTO for programming to work
The word AUTO is printed on timer face.
Small black triangle will display above the word AUTO when timer is in AUTO

Countdown is feature that lets you set timer ON for set amount of time, and when time expires, timer turns OFF.

Manual button.
I have not tested this specific timer.
Simply plug lamp into timer, and then push manual button to explore feature.
Watch what symbols display, and watch what lamp does.

How do i program the 24 hour timer by woods?

You posted under Woods indoor plug-in 24-hour mechanical timer.
This particular timer:
Rotate dial until current time lines up with words: 'time now' located on inner dial
To set on-off times, look carefully at dial that rotates.
There are tiny pins that stick up on the dial.
Each pin represents 1/2 hour.
Use fingernail and click pin outward for each half hour you want timer ON
Leave pins inward for each half hour you want timer OFF
Next, plug table lamp into side of timer.
Last step, plug timer into wall outlet.

If this is not your timer, see all Woods timers and manuals:
Or add a comment and I will help.
