The light with a cord "plug" on it indicates that there is power coming to the vacuum. This is normal.
Assuming that the vacuum works, but not the power nozzle, turn the PN over to view the brush. Clear all hair, thread, fibers, etc., that may be wrapped aroung the brush. Use a sharp knife or scissors to cut through them for ease of removal. Make sure the ends of the brush are cleared as well. Try the vacuum and press the reset switch on the PN. Does it work?
Is the PN motor running, but the brush isn't spinning. Turn PN over and try to spin the brush. If it turns freely, the belt is broken and needs replaced. This should be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service tech to avoid incorrect reassembly and resulting damage to vacuum and owner.
If the brush doesn't freely spin, but turns with resistance, this is normal.
If it still doesn't work, try the Sidekick mini power nozzle that should have come with it. If it works, but the full size PN doesn't, there's a problem with the PN. It needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis (free) and repair.
If the Sidekick doesn't work, the problem is in the hose, wands, or canister. It could be due to bad switches, wiring, and other electrical problems. In this case, the entire vacuum needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux dealer for diagnosis and needed repairs.

Electrolux 2100 vac dies when you attach hose even with new bag.

If the bag full light keeps coming on, you can first try adjusting the dial on top of the vacuum cleaner. If that does not work, then you need to change the control valve. This is an internal component of the canister and is directly below the dial. You will need to follow the instructions on a previous post to open the Electrolux plastic canister vacuum, and remove the bage cage. Once you remove the bage cage you can change the control valve, and this will solve your problem with the bag full indicator.

Vacuum shrinks, power is still on but no suction

perhaps there is something stuck in the vacuum. Look where the hose fits in. There is obvioulsy no blockage in the hose because you have suction. Do the power brushes spin on the vacuum?? Take the bag off, and inspect the area the bag fits in for blockage.

The light on the top of the vaccum stays light and

You have a Electrolux, not a Guardian though, right? The light you are talking about is the bag full indicator. I know your bag is not full, so, try this. The knob on the top of the cleaner is a fine adjustment designed to let the bag fill up in different conditions, (dirt types) . So...turn the dial down to setting 2. Try it again. Did it work? If so, this is your adjustment . No need to ever adjust it agin. It is NOT the suction control. If this did not fix ya (haha) then, your adjustment diaphragm is bad and you will have to break down and bring it to Aerus(Electrolux) for a repair. I hope this info was helpful, if so, please leave feedback, it helps my rating, Thanks, Rene(The Vacuum Doctor)

Bag was full, changed it, the unit now turns off

Try dialing the control valve to the mid way position. If the unit still shuts down with the bag full light on you have a damaged control valve under the dial on the top of the vac.
This valve failure is common in this model and can only be repaired by someone with original AERUS Electrolux repair parts, generally at an AERUS repair shop.

I have a Electrolux Epic 6500 SR canister vacum cleaner. It is nine years old and for the past few weeks it has started shutting off for no apparent reason. The symbol for bag change lights up and it cuts...

Your machine is probably clogged, look through the wands, look in the bottom attachment, to see if there is anything stuck there. You can also drop a marble through the hose itself to see if anything is stuck there as well. To unclog the hose try holding the attachment end of the hose were you would normally plug the hose in. ( the goal is to **** the clog out the way it came in).

I need to know how to change my kirby into a blower?

Raise the light assessory on the front of the vac. Remove the roller assembly by rotating the square dial as indicated by the arrows. Then you must attach the accessory that sort of looks like a 4 inch square open box to the front of the vac where you removed the roller assembly and lock into place. Next you remove your bag assembly by unsnapping at the top of the handle to the vac, then at the base of the bag assembly you must unlock the plastic base from the metal vac unit by turning it counter clockwise and then pulling off. Finally you attach the hose assembly where you removed the bag assembly and lock into place by turning clockwise (reverse of taking off bag assembly base). Put vac in neutral and power on. Now you will blow from the hose assembly.

Kenmore progressive/direct drive-- roller stopped turning

We have the same vacuum & had the same problem. As the vacuum ages & the hose is periodically removed from the nozzle to use with the attachments, the white switch, adjacent to the nozzle connection, wears. If the hose is not fully reinserted or if the attachment notches are inadvertently aligned with the white stitch, the agitator may not work reliably. Assuring the hose is fully inserted, with the locking notches away from the switch has eliminated this problem with our vacuum cleaner.

Full bag system works properly, but doesn't reset easily

Either there is something wrong with your switch. Which it doesnt sound like it. Take it to your dealer or call another one it sounds like the control valve needs to be replaced. I am a dealer 1-866-966-9350.
