Hi,
Mitsubishi WD-73286 is DLP tv that does not have any convergence circuit inside.
Convergence is required in old model rear projection tv that has three basic colors picture tubes to generate color picture that projected on front screen of tv.
DLP tv has light engine to generate picture, it is similar to multimedia projector that throws its picture on wall.
Hope this info will help.
Thanks.

Is having a local newspaper start placing video about news events on its website an example of media convergence

Anon, I think this could be looked at as a type of media convergence. Check the attached links on media convergence. Good luck

Convergence issues

Your TV most likely has a convergence failure. ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

0667c5f.pngSOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Need to know what convergence chips are in Panasonic PT51HX41E

your model has two STK392-110 CONvergence Cs, you will also most likely need at least a few of the 2.2 ohm 2watt convergence resistors. I am posting a link to the actualrepair kit for your model which contains both Convergence ICs and all 6 of the convergence resistors and they send instructions with pictures that show how to do the repair.

Convergence problem

your model has two boards that control convergence. One is the convergence board. the other is the convergence board power supply, usually when more than one color is off its the Convergence power supply that is bad. You can get replacement circuit boards at the following link.
