First and foremost, you will need to purchase an unlock code.

Warning : Do not enter any wrong unlock codes on your Nokia 1280 mobile phones. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes on your Nokia 1280 mobile phone, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.

1 - Switch on your Nokia 1280 without any sim card.
2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia 1280.
3 - Compose #pw+CODE+1#.
4 - The Nokia 1280 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!

Note :For Nokia 1280 mobile phones locked to the network Fido or Rogers in Canada follow these instructions :
1 - Switch on your Nokia 1280 without any sim card.
2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia 1280.
3 - Compose #pw+CODE+7#.
4 - The Nokia 1280 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!

The letter p appears if you press the button star(*) three times quickly
The letter w appears if you press the button star(*) four times quickly
The symbol + appears if you press the button star(*) two times quickly
The CODE you need to enter is the unique unlock code for your Nokia 1280

Why wont my phone unlock

What method you have used to unlock it .It's locked to network or security. If it's locked with security code use default codes to unlock it.Default codes are 12345 or 1234 or 0000.If these codes do not work get free master reset code for Nokia DCT phones from the site Unlock-free.com and reset it. You need to unlock it from network lock use correct unlock code.I think you may used wrong codes to unlock it or it may be a cdma network locked Nokia phone.CDMA network locked phones cannot be unlocked.Visit the site Mobile-unlocker.com get the unlock code for all GSM network locked Nokia phones and unlock it from service provider lock. After unlock it you can use with any GSM network sim card in it.
