I found this in another Fixya entry... "-Press Enter and On/Off on the media center , on standby mode -now hold the enter button pressed and start pressing the On/Off button. You should see a setting display on the player. The setting on display should change from video....till...Hotel Control -ON - on that position, press the Volume 'minus' button on the media center. It should change to Hotel Control - Off." My next suggestion would have been to call Bose and ask them why things like this aren't documented anywhere. 1-800-999-2673 Sales support: Mon. - Sun., 7 AM - 2 AM ET Technical support: Mon. - Fri., 8:30 AM - 9 PM ET Sat., 9 AM - 6 PM
REALLY - call them and complain that this is NOT documented online.
Thank you for the suggestion.
I tried with the Enter button (on the remote control) and the On/Off button on the media center, but I can't see any setting like "video" till "hotel control". The solution you suggest is the one for a 3-2-1 system, but I have a v20. Could there be a difference in way of working?
Probably. I bet Bose knows. And they really need to hear from a customer the inconvenience a lack of documentation causes.
I contacted the Bose Helpdesk and they gave me the following solution (it worked): 1. With the system turned on, adjust volume to desired maximum - 2. Turn the system off - 3. Press and hold the center (mute) button on the display panel - 4. While holding down the center button, press the on/off button until "hotel control" appears on the display - 5. Adjust parameters by pressing the volume up or down buttons on the display panel - 6. Press the on/off button to clear the display - 7. Turn the system on to any source - 8. Turn the system off. Wait until "save your settings" disappears on the display.
I hope this can help other people who have the same problem by adding this solution here.
I hope you asked them to post this where people can find it online.
