If it works on auto but not on time you have a bad timer,it's not counting down,it's better to use auto anyway, when the clothes dry the dryer shuts off on it's own, this way your not using extra electricity,if your clothes dry in 30 minutes and it's on 60 minutes it will still run after the clothes are dry on auto it doesn't.if you open the door and look around the opening you'll see a tag with the model number, your missing a couple of letters on the model number.

This is completely backwards from my post. It works on timed, not on auto dry.

  • Sal De Mar 05, 2011

ok lets get this right, the dryer should shut off on auto,it shuts off when the clothes are dry,are you saying it's shutting off before the clothes are done?the timer moves when the heat is off it stops when the heat comes on,it does this until the clothes are done

  • Sal De Mar 05, 2011

one more thing if the dryer doesn't shut off when on auto,it just sits there you have a problem with your heater and need to change the element,it's most likely broke and it's touching the frame keeping the heat on all the time, when in auto the timer will only move when the heat shuts off, this is probably why the clothes are so hot when you take them out on time,or the cycling thermostat is bad.the only way to tell is to check the parts with a meter or listen for a clicking sound, that will be the heater shutting off and on or remove the back panel and start it and see if the heater is shutting off,all the parts are in the back on your machine, you'll need a meter, unplug the dryer, you have to pull at least one wire off the part you're checking, check the thermostats,if they check good check the element or you could still have a bad timer, the only way to tell is to check the parts with a meter,

the last two digits for the model number are q0. Anyway, I know it shuts off during auto cycle when the clothes are dry. The problem here is that it shuts off before they are even close to being dry and will not turn back on for 30 minutes or so. It completes cycle when on timed dry, but seems to hot at end of cycle. Not cooling like it should.

  • Sal De Mar 05, 2011

put it on auto, put a mark on the timer and on the panel, start it and tell me if it keeps stoppoing at the same spot.if it does move the timer by hand past that spot, and start it,if it runs you could have a bad timer,.when a timer starts to fail it usually sticks in a spot and if you move it by hand past that point it might run.your dryer is just a basic dryer, nothing fancy. you say it will run after 30 minutes, does it start on it's own or do you have to wait a half hour before you can start it again

  • Sal De Mar 05, 2011

alsois the dryer clean?when was the last time you pulled off the duct that the lint filter slides into and cleaned out the vent line.this can mess up the way the dryer runs.you can try running it with the vent line removed from the back if the vent line is long you should blow it out with a leaf blower, then pull off the back panel, remove the filter, remove the two screws on top, then take out the 4 screws that hold the duct in place and remove it and clean it out.then try running it and see what happens,it should be cleaned out once every two years so you won't have any problems with the dryer.

hi,i'm sorry to be bombarding you with things to do but i haven't seen this in years,it just dawned on me that there's a resistor in the top console that will cause this,i looked up your machine and the part number is 279872 and it's like 15 or 20 dollars.it's black likea piece of tape with two orange wires on it,also clean thedryer if you haven't already done this,it will keep the dryer running like it should and your clothes will dry on time.let me know how you make out,i just had a hard time understanding what your problem was.hope this helps you

Zanussi Lindo 100 dryer - stops after 10 seconds, pauses 1min, runs 10secs.......

This is what happens during wrinkle guard. During the end of the cycle a dryer will go into wrinkle guard to protect clothes from being wrinkled. Either the timer is stuck in this position or it is set in this position. Wrinkle guard can be called different names depending on manufacture.

Moisture control

Dryers have 2 basic types: AUTODRY and Electronic. The electronic moisture control relies on 2 bars inside the dryer. As wet clothes rub these bars the wetness discharges the capacitor on the moisture control board. As long as the cap don't get a full charge the timer motor will not advance forward to the end of cycle. What goes wrong on these? Wax buildup on moisture bars form a barrier that keeps wetness off them bars. The control thinks them clothes is dry and shuts her down. On autodry the timer motor advances very slowly, The motor does not work while the heating element is on. Only when the heating element is off does the timer motor advance. As them clothes gets dryer the temp inside the dryer stays warmer and therefore the dryer thermostat keeps the heater off long and the timer motor advances. Like being on a highway with traffic jam you go a little bit then stop then go a little bit more then stop. Finally you get there. So what goes wrong? The control thermostat is not functioning properly causing the heater limit to do all the work . Instead the heater limit has to do the work and it ain't a real happy camper. Makes them clothes get too hot. They come out wrinkled.

Samsung washing machine

Based on my experience, the same thing happens to me as you have mentioned that it happens every end of a cycle. I doubt if it was a fan error or a frequency error. for me, its just a simple overload for the autodrying. for example on my model. the manual says autodrying cotton-cupboard dry must be max 3 kg. since you cannot measure your wet clothes and it sometimes exceed the 3kg autodrying, that is when the FE comes out. but when i remove some clothes or spin the laundry again and put it into drying, everything works fine. when i use the machine with minimal clothes say 2kg dry, the whole cycle up to drying work fine without FE errors.

So i believe its just an error for drying overload. also the manual says nothing about FE nor Error code for drying overload.

Hope this help.

Dryer will start to heat up and then the heating element will stop and it will cool down and then it will start again. It is taking a long time to get clothes dry.

Some of these have a knob setting for "wrinkle free" and they can malfunction to the point that they do not allow the heater to stay on long enough. I personally do not like the wrinkle free features for even another reason.....if you do not remove the clothes at the end of the cycle then it will sit there a few minutes and then automatically turn on for a few minutes to remove the wrinkles and then rest again and repeat this cycling on and off indefinitely for hours or days until you completely remove the clothes...wastes energy and a bit scary to have it come on by itself. So...look to make sure you are not using the wrinkle free settings and then see if it works ok. If not then you may have a bad timer control.

My LG dryer shuts itself off during the normal cycle and a dotted

OK, here's what it sounds like to me: The line going around the display should only be seen if you selected "Wrinkel Care" function for that cycle (and with the freshen up cycle, I beleive). With that option in use, after the dryer shuts off, if you do not open the door or turn off power to the dryer the dryer will display the moving rectangular segments and every 6 minutes the dryer will turn itself on and tumble for 10 seconds with no heat (to keep clothes fluffed up and prevent wrinkles from setting in) and will continue this cycle for up to three hours. The "Freshen Up" is the steam cycle used to remove wrinkles from 1 to 5 garments, like things that were all wrinkled up in your suitcase. Try drying with a normal or permanent press cycle, or a timed cycle. If you have additional questions or concerns, let me know.
