Hi, I 've got a Handycam Digital 8 (DCR-TRV270E) and Windows Vista Home Basic and have lost the software for my camera and my PC doesn't recognize the device when it's imported to usb port. How can I overcome this problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

You simply need a driver for your PC, and use a video making bit of software like Video Studio, see it at www.bargainshopping.org.uk and use a firewire on that great camera not USB it will be higher def with Firewire, get them from Maplins or Jesops camera shops around £10.

I have same camera and computer. I use IEEE1394 FireWire(CardBus PCcard). It works for Ulead DVD MovieWriter which is in my Vista.

Please download required USB driver of DCR-TRV270E from Sony Support. Check Downloads section.

Windows XP & Vista should automatically recognize the camera (hardware) when you plug in the USB cable. You don't need the Sony software.

Hi..please remove the Microsoft Vista OS and install XP then you can install your sony digital video camera recorder ..ok
