Have you visited the website for your MSI product? There are some drivers on their download page. See if it works when you click the live update link with Internet Explorer for the Notebook. The live update may give you the option to update the webcam driver.

Your first option would be to try the Live Update Online:
http://www.msi.com/service/liveupdate/
Your second option would be to download and install the Live Update software:
http://download1.msi.com/files/downloads/uti_exe/LiveUpdate.zip
I found no downloadable drivers for this laptop other than by using the Live Update tools.

Hi there Pichorita,
After reviewing the specs and setup of the US version of the S270, there was never a built in webcam.
Was this machine purchases outside of the US?
Thanks,
BT

SOURCE: how to activate the builtin web camera on my MSI laptop

Press the blue "Fn" button on the lower left hand side. Then as your holding that button down...press "F6". There should be a small webcam icon on this button. This worked for me so I hope this helped!

My Built-in cam in MSI netbook is not working

Try this first:

Hold Fn on your keyboard and click F6 then your web cam is on.

If still the webcam is not working try this:

Go to device manager and verify that web-cam driver is working properly by doing the following:

1. Go to start > RUN > then type in the following in the RUN...
box devmgmt.msc then press enter.

2. The device manager box will appear then look for web-cam driver ("Imaging Device")

3. If everything is working like it should, there should not be an "exclamation mark" by your web-cam driver

If there is an "exclamation mark" then load the driver cd that came with your laptop and install the necessary driver or go to your laptop manufacture's website and download the driver and reboot for good measure.

The built in webcam is not detected

it sounds like a faulty cam have you tried an external web cam this may trick the onboard one in to working.
if the on board device is detected in the device manager uninsall it and it should re-install itself the next time you boot up.
or try the msi web site look for support downloads then select your computer it should be a drop down list and down load the drivers for it.

hi harley, I think upgrading your OS to vista or win 7 doesn't help you find out where your web cam was located. I think you need to install the driver that the laptop must have. The driver I am referring to is the driver of the whole hardware of your laptop(display driver, sound and including your web cam). If you can't find it, you may wish to ask from the store where you bought your laptop. Hope this help harley.
