It could be a no. of things:

- Wrong input selected via the TV
- The VGA input on the TV is turned off
- Problem with the VGA cord
- Problem with either VGA port

there the basics, if there all great and it's still no working, try setting your Computer display to EXTEND rather then projector only, then play around with your graphic output settings.

UPDATE all your Drivers and check all your cables. PLUG IN YOUR LAPTOP, yes it will make a difference to the way the graphics card operates.

Hope this helps.

Tried to plug in my mac to a dynex flatscreen using VGA gagaware chord. screen is black and says "not supported". is there a way to make this work?

The answer is NO with a possible yes... NOT with the VGA connection, not going to happen EVER. On the other hand, if the TV has an HDMI port, then I suggest you connect your MAC using an HDMI cord suited for that purpose. You should be able to get satisfactory results.

Acer Aspire screen goes black every few minutes only when connected to tv

That may be because you have connected the incorrect VGA port to the TV, remember you need a VGA card installed on you PC with the correct cables VGA to RCA cables to get this right.

Ibm thinkpad wont connect to LG TV

Lower the screen resolution to 720 dpi.

Another issue is the reference to RGB. Is it the 3 cable (YPBPR) or the standard 15 pin VGA? You may need a converter.

I'm connecting to a tv with a VGA cable from my Acer netbook. My tv says No Signal. Windows makes the "ba dum" sound when I connect/disconect the cable, but under my display settings, it doesn't...

Don't forget that the TV source or input needs to be set to "PC". Once that is done turn the netbook OFF, then plug the VGA cable into the netbook and start the computer. The computer screen should automatically show up on the TV.

Hi Guy's I have an Acer Aspire 5315 laptop and a 32" Bush flatscreen TV. What cable do I need to connect the 2 to watch movies etc Cheers

Use a 15-pin, male-to-male VGA cable to connect your laptop to your TV. male-to-male means the pins are sticking out on both ends. Since both ends are male, you'll need to find the female VGA input on your laptop and on your TV. This is often called the PC input. Now, connect one end into the TV and one end into the PC. On a Mac, the VGA input is conveniently labeled with a "display" icon. It's recommended that you do this with everything powered off.
