I`ve got a netbook Dell mini inspiron 10 and when I wanted to connect it to my TV with the HDMI cable I can see just the windows desk but nothing else. How can I resolve the problem?

Since you do not mention the tv you are connecting to I cannot be sure about it. With that said you may need to go into the TV Controls and set the TV to HDMI 1 OR 2 and then see if that will correct itself.

Press the Windows key and the letter "p" at the same time, and select duplicate

Right click on the volume tab in the taskbar in the far right and then click on playback devices. Check all of the devices and click set defualt and then try. Make sure you aux cable is plugged into the right port. Also mae sure all of the colors match on the tv to the cables.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 series of netbooks come with recovery software that can restore your netbook's original factory settings. Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbooks with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 can be recovered to the factory settings using a recovery partition on the hard drive.
Windows Vista or 7
Turn on or restart your Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook. Press the "F8" key repeatedly when the "Dell" logo appears on the screen to be redirected to the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
Highlight "Repair Your Computer," and then press "Enter."
Highlight the language layout you want to use for your keyboard and click "Next." Enter your username and password if prompted. Click "OK."
Click "Dell Factory Image Restore," and then click "Next." The recovery software on some Dell Mini systems may require you to click "Dell Factory Tools" followed by "Dell Factory Image Restore" and "Next."
Click "Next" if you understand the netbook will be restored to its original factory settings. The recovery process will begin.
Click "Finish" when a message appears saying the recovery is complete. The netbook will restart and boot up to the Windows Vista or Windows 7 set-up screen, where you can begin personalizing your netbook.

Windows XP Recovery
Turn on the computer. Press the "Ctrl" and "F11" keys at the same time while the computer is booting up to access the recovery software.
Click "Restore."
Click "Confirm" to begin the recovery process, which shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes.
Click "Finish" to restart the computer and finalize the installation. Click "Yes" to restart the netbook again. The computer will boot up to the Windows XP setup screen

On the casing, is there a slider-switch that disables/enables the wireless interface?

you would need an HDMI to VGA adapter. sometimes it would come in a form of a separate cable or just a regular adapter which would convert the HDMI end to VGA (the blue one that has 15 pins)
you can purchase these cables from your local computer store.

You just need a HDMI cable to go from the laptop to the TV. It is refered to as a patch cable. You then go into the TV menu and set it to component or in some cases it will say computer. The VGA on the TV just allows both style interfaces to be connected.

Only limited mini's have HDMI port. What you can do is to buy a VGA/HDMI dongle/cable so you can connect your HDMI Television to your mini.

HDMI is only used for Video output and not for sound, you will have to use your laptop audio out (has a pic of headphones), you are able to get headphone jack to phono (white / Red) cable to connect to TV or surround sound system or your laptop speakers.
