How do replace a belt on my Amana Washer, model ALW880QAW? It stopped spinning and agitating and when Itook the front off I saw a broken belt. I have the belt, But I don't know how to replace...

look around the motor you will see the mounting bolts they just might need to be losend or removed in order to remove and install the new belt some have a sleeve in the middle of the bolt that needs to be removed, try to do one bolt at a time, some times that helps.

Pictures or directions to fix a belt on the alw880qaw model washer

1st: (I assume you have of the ront panel and machine is unplugged) Look at the motor. The pump is below it(right). Disconnect the pump hose watch out water is still in the pump. 2nd: Identify the 4 1/2" mounting bolts holding the Motor frame to the washer frame. Take those out. Careful the motor will drop so try to prop it up or cushion it(don't want to break the motor) 3rd: Pull off spring on tensioner pulley(do not lose this). Then take off belt(if not already off) Pull the motor and mount out. 4th: Youu will need some torx bits to remove the pump( I think it is the t-20 or t-25 it's just good to buy a little set of them). It should have three of them. Before you take off the pump look how the belt is orientated to the pump. After you get teh pump off it is easy and self explanatory. Then assemble in reverse except wait to the last to put the belt around the big pulley under the washer tub. Also it can be helpfull to have another person hold the motor as you try to start the 1/2" mounting bolt. Hope this helps you.

Need to replace the main belt on the bottom of the washer. The belt goes around the drive pulley directly below the electric motor which is accessible from the front bottom access panel. The belt goes...

Unplug the motor wiring, remove the bolts holding the motor bracket (4 I think) remove the hoses from the pump and lift the motor and pump out. Remove the 3 screws on the pump and separate from the motor. Put the belt on the pulley and replace the pump. Slide the motor and pump back in with the belt attached, but don't put the 4 bolts on until you put the belt over the tub pulley. Then put them in and plug the wiring back onto the motor. That should do it!

I need to replace the belt

You shouldn't have to remove the pump to replace the belt. The motor mount can be loosened and the motor moved so the belt will fit over all pulleys without removing the components.

Loosen motor, move it in, install belt, move motor out to correct belt tension, tighten motor mounts.
