Use Android on Windows phones(preferably HTC)

You can run Android on Windows phones, although certain Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Samsung models that ship with Windows Mobile can run Android HTC phones aer preferable.HTC phnes like HTC HD2, Touch Pro, Touch HD or Diamond can be converted.

Note that there is a risk with this process, so following the instructions for installing Android on your chosen Windows Mobile device to the letter is strongly advised. It is possible to "brick" your phone, so ensuring that you have prepared correctly and followed the steps precisely is vital.

In order to install Android on a Windows Mobile device, you will need to find a suitable ROM for your handset. A ROM is a compilation of the Android operating system and all of the device drivers you will need to use your phone, camera, buttons, Wi-Fi, etc.

Again, these are available via www.xda-developers.com, where you will find a subforum for each Windows Mobile model. Choosing a suitable ROM can be difficult, so take a read through the subforum FAQ to find which one might be the most suitable for your needs.

You will also need a microSD card for the best results, preferably empty.

HOW TO

With your selected ROM downloaded (they're usually around 70-100MB), unzipped and copied to the root of your microSD card, switch on your Windows Mobile device. If you plan on running Android permanently on your phone, you might opt to perform a factory reset, achievable via Settings > Clear Storage.

When Windows Mobile is loaded, go to Explorer and find the HaRET.exe file on your microSD card. Select this to run - the phone will appear to restart and soon Android will be running on your Windows Mobile phone!

Hello i have bought a hd2 t-mobile in USA. seller declared it works well. when arrived, i have changed WP7 with Android, but nothing more. Phone had a bad signal reception, near a HTC legend well...

There is a little white tab on the sidewall of the battery well - should be toward the top of the phone. If it's pink, it means there's damage to the inside and it won't be repaired by the manufacturer.

How can I install Android 2.2 in my HD2,thanks.

Prerequisite to run Android 2.2 Froyo on HTC HD2

1. Flash HardSPL3 on HTC HD2
2. Flash any HTC HD2 Radio ROM Leo_RADIO 2.08 onward

Guide to install and run mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.7 build

1. Download zip file here.
2. Extract contents of zip file to your SD card. Note - Android folder should be located at root level (SD card\Android).
3. Using file explorer in Windows Mobile, inside the 'Android' folder run CLRCAD.exe (to fix audio issue). Don't worry, it will appear to do nothing, that is normal.
4. Run Haret.exe.
5. Enjoy...

Note - Android 2.2 Froyo on HTC HD2 is not perfect yet compare the actual Android phone HTC Desire. Some functions are not working. And I got white and black screen of death (SOD) sometimes. But it is getting better and better each day. Hoping it will out perform actual Android phone out there soon.

To make it clear I have an HTC HD2 windows mobile phone running windows 6.5 but I've heared that T-mobile in USA will introduce an exclusive upgraded version of same device with windows 7 but packing 576MB...

Well for your information microsoft wm 7 so far is not coming to Htc hd2. But if you want to enable the 567MB Ram then you have to flash your phone with the After market cooked roms. You can go on xda-developers.com and click on the forums choose Htc hd2 and then rom developments. If you need any futher help let me know thanks.
