The serial number of the PIXMA MP530 is located inside the printer, as shown below.

  1. Lift the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) until it locks into place.

  2. When the printer is powered on and the Scanning Unit is lifted, the Paper Output Tray will open automatically. If the Paper Output Tray does not open after several seconds, press the Open button to open the tray manually.

  3. Open the Inner Cover.
    The serial number is attached to the back wall inside the printer.
    It starts with four letters (AAGA) and ends with five numbers. Example: AAGA01234

Remove the printer from the MAC. Go here and get new Firmware and then Drivers as a new package.

Canon Pixma MP530 multifunction printer
HI,

1.Power off the printer

2, Unplug the printer's power cord, wait 5 seconds then replug the power cord in.

3, Hold the Power button for 6 Beeps

4, Release the Power Button

Pixma530 printer where inside is thhe serial number?

and type in serial number. The first result shows you exact instructions for finding the number. This assumes that your model is a Pixma MP530 - the only 530 in the Pixma line that I could find. The content of that page appears below (illustrations will likely not appear properly):

Canon mp530 getting error message 6a00
HI Guys 6A00 error usually cant't be fixed according to the service centre, I was lucky and actually bought an extended warranty, the service centre said that the MP530 are a good printer and worth fixing as they don't see many at all compared to other models and other brands. There was a broken piece of hardware that something to do with the print carriage. cheers vailey
