1500 watts is 1.5 kilowatts. Run it for 1 hour and you have 1.5 kilowatt hours. My electricity costs .08 per kilowatt hour so, when I run my 1500 watt space heater, it costs me a whopping .12 per hour to operate. I can afford 12 cents per hour, compared to oil at $3.50 per gallon and a burner that burns up to 3 gallons per hour.
Yes, they should have a set screw built in, or they will simply pull off without much effort. If the knob does not pull off without much resistance, then look around it for a hole with a allen screw inside. If this is the case, just loosen the screw and the knob will come off no problem.
Almost every manufacturer will supply free parts for new equipment that is missing them.
Call them and let them know and I'm sure they will mail them to you.
