I plugged it in and nothing is working . I have an hp laptop running vista. I have to use this camera for a class at CTUOnline due tomorrow. Help! Rhonda

    I went to icecam2 website to download driver since my pc wasn't recognizing it. That fixed it. Thanks for the response.

When you plug in the camera does vista show that new hardware is found and if any lights are on the device do they come on?. Can you see any image of a PC card on the status bar near the time , if you do then double click it and it will open the hardware wizard that is looking for the drivers and if you have internet connected to then it should find the drivers automatically. Were you using this cam with Vista before or Windows XP ? Try installing the driver that is on the CD that came with the camera or download from his location

The cam should work without the driver on windows but sometimes it might not find the right one.

The Drivers on this touch pad are failing.
if you go to HP.com you can get the correct drivers.
but they will ask you for the full model number not just terse tx2

there are 4 , classes of TX2

failures like this are software or hardware caused.
if software can be virus infected, that both vista and Xp worse
will be... and endless. pain there.
or someone loaded wrong OS, or wrong drivers.

all that is called OS corrupted, in one form are another.
Id reload the OS using real HP disks.
or try the drivers seen here.

i guessed VISTA 32, if not vista 32, tell HP what it is now.

I would have thought that with letters , the class would have been a english class and numbers for a maths class

Software for HP KQ245AA webcam will not upload with Windows XP Pro and SP3. Works fine with Vista but not my XP laptop even when I run setup.exe nothing opens or uploads. What Can I do?
As an update to the posted problem, I have got the camera software loaded by opening the disc contents and then opening folders and clicking on individual setup arrows. This after the auto setup for the disc, repeatedly failed to work with the XP home SP3.

As this is only a partial success and not the way it all should have installed, I am now talking to HP about the issue.
Yes the camera now works on my XP operated laptop, but not all the arcsoft and HP add ons work yet. Watch this space.

I can no longer upload photos from my camera to my computer
For Vista click the windows “start” button on the bottom left and in the search box type regedit . You will be asked to confirm your admin account. Just hit next or continue.
Now browse to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
It’s just like browsing through folders so don’t worry about it. if you get lost just start over. BE SURE you follow the path 100% There are many similar files and folders so double check they all match up.
Now that you are at the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Folder on the right side you will see several entries. right Click and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters. These will be remade once you reboot.

You don't need any software.


The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

HP laptop doesn't recognize HP Colorjet 2600n
you need to reinstall the printer drivers with the usb unplugged. then when you plug the usb into the pc it should see it and activate the printer (plug and play). having said this make sure you can use other equipment with that particular usb cable as the impedance could be bad with the cable. Vista driver for Intel camers
You need a USB video class driver to use in vista. this link says it's for a genius webcam but the driver is a generic one for vista-supported usb cameras(amongst others devices), so it should work for you.
