This a common problem, the likely cause is a bad magnetron "heats food" and is the heart of the microwave oven, if the item is five years or more, cheaper to replace.
buzzinsg / humming / loud or louder than normal .is probably the mag / it has failed and the trans is making that noise . if older than 5 yrs I would replace ans the mag is 100.00 + and w / labor you have paid for a new on but have the old one .**** ..
sometimes an over heat will shut down the oven for a little bit but lets look at other things
i dont believe the board to be bad but i do believe the heating element inside is fried or a wire got fried by heat
if you know how to use ohm tester i would check heating element and wireing first
then try to see if the timer gave out
