I have a Swingline Optima 20 electric stapler. One of it's resisters (R18) needs to be replaced, but it isn't color coded. The manufactuer said they don't have any schematics, so how can I find the resister's value?

In that case you can just remove the resistor and check its value with an ohmmeter or digital multimeter.

Swingline Optima 45 Stapler - cannot slide tray back in stapler, no staples jamming

Sometimes the rectangular insert where the staples sit on, gets dislodged. On the underside of channel insert is a spring and when correctly seated is in between the tabs of the bottom piece. If the insert isn't in between the tabs, it sits too high and makes it difficult to open and close the staple tray. The staples will jam.

How to remove the cover of the Swingline 48209 Optima 45

The top and bottom pieces are held in place by plastic press fit clips near the corners. These can be carefully pried off to expose the four screws that holds the two main halves of the main body together. Two along the top and two along the bottom edges. remove-cover-swingline-48209-tnvqfkqwrdbsi2jhlz5a3kts-5-0.jpg

Swingline optima 40 how do you open and close the stapler?

Swingline heavy duty staplers provide the power to staple up to 120 pages of 20-lb. paper easily and consistently. The all-metal construction of these staplers makes them an indispensible office tool. However, the way to load staples into a Swingline heavy duty stapler differs from the method for loading most other manual staplers and can cause a little confusion.
Difficulty:Easy Instructions

    • 1 Remove the follow block at the back of the stapler by pushing the mechanism in, lifting the block up over the holding hooks and sliding it out from the stapler. The follow block is the spring-loaded mechanism that holds the staples in place within the stapler.
    • 2 Load the heavy-duty staples into the staple tray.
    • 3 Replace the follow block by inserting it back into the stapler and locking it into place over the holding hooks.
