Recording. How to disable onscreen icons diplaying on record?

Cannot find the way to disable displaying onscreen status icons - as like as time, battery , mode and others during direct recording to Toshiba DVD recorder via RCA connection

Go to camera Manu and check Display properties. There you will find display option on LCD or Video Output. select it Display On LCD.

Hi Jamiescoffee,

You may want to follow the below steps to disable Microphone:
(1)Right click on the speaker icon in the status bar.
(2)Select Recording device.
(3)Right click on Microphone array and disable it.

However, if you want to enable this later on you may just right click on the same screen and select show disabled device. Right click on the device and enable it.

Disable mic on xps m1730

Right click on the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom right, next to the date/time) and select recording devices. It will give you a list of whatever devices you have on your computer that are designated to record sounds. Choose the on board microphone, right click, and select disable device.

Seems to be the case where the battery is not fully recharged , Please follow the below steps :-

  1. Please make sure that you charge your battery fully , till the time you see an indicator for the battery being fully charged , or may be you see an icon in the display screen with the charge status.
  2. As far the 6.30 hr duration that you have mentioned, this duration reflects the time that you have left for total recording space on your disk or memory card depending on your current source for recording.
  3. The above duration is not to be confused with the battery usage time.

TEST SPEAKERS
Right click on speaker icon in System Tray or from Control Panel
Select "Playback Devices"
The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible
Right click on the volume graph and click "Test"
Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard

SET DEFAULT & TEST MIC
Click "Recording" tab.
Right click on the volume graph and select 'Show disabled devices' and 'Show disconnected devices'
To set required mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties"
In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click 'OK'
Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later)
Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays

Restart computer

You do not say what the webcam model is or what the OS and if you have desktop or laptop
These instructions are for laptop and Vista

Can't figure out how to diplay date on recordings

You should have given details of your Camera.Anyways I'll tell according to Canon A460 because I have same and other cameras also generally have similar settings. First using Funciton set the size to Postcard size (with a Clock icon). Now using Menu button go to Date Stamp option and set it to 'ON'. you are done.

double click on the sound icon in sys tray to access properties and disable from there or just turn the slider all the way down
