SOURCE: Sony TV power and volume not working

Since remote does not work, try taking out batt and turning on by set. See if still turns up. It could be that the up button is jammed inside set. Does everything else works? See if you can go to menu and turn speakers off, this will allow you to work on set and not worry about noise.

SOURCE: Sony 46" lcd turns off by itself and will not power up again.

if your tv unit is still under warranty, first you better bring it back again to the store you just bought it for warranty purposes, your tv has an internal problem, maybe manufacturer defect. Usually the cause of that is a shorted electronics component, say for ex, a mosfet transistor that is located at the power section, or maybe a capacitor that is leaky, and also an open resistor. if you don't know how to troubleshoot this problem, you better have your tv unit repaired by a professional tv technician.

Good luck

Is driver airbag still functional when passenger airbag light is on in a 2010 Chevy malibu?

Hello Collette,

(Owner Manual Page 2-68)
The passenger sensing system turns off the right front
passenger frontal airbag and seat-mounted side
impact airbag under certain conditions. The driver
airbags and the roof-rail airbags are not affected by the
passenger sensing system.
The passenger sensing system works with sensors that
are part of the right front passenger seat. The sensors
are designed to detect the presence of a properly-seated
occupant and determine if the right front passenger
frontal airbag and seat-mounted side impact airbag
should be enabled (may inflate) or not.

I'm not sure if a purse or other light weight objects would activate the passenger airbag but if your display is showing random passenger activation it would be best to have a qualified dealer check into it...better safe than sorry.

Doesnot start john deere electric start mower

simple things to ck first :
(1) battery - fastest way to test it is to jump start it
(2) safety's - with tractor off , turn key to first click , then try and engage the mower deck , you should hear a click , shift to 1st gear try again you should not hear click ,back to neutral then hold clutch down , try again you should hear click , all of this assumes your sitting in the operator seat when u try it , as the presence sensor only trips on human presence over 60 lbs if any of these tests does not produce the desired effect check that safety sensor , although ive found on JD's the seat switch is found bad allot

When i am using my laptop for a while, the screen goes black, then it goes back on, then black again, and so on for a while, until i have to switch it off manually by holding the power button in. it is...

Failing backlight or inverter, remove the screen bezel and check the security of the VGA cable to the screen, and the security of the connections to the inverter (small oblong object below the screen), Check that the pink / white cable is not loose or frayed.

Test the laptop on an external monitor, if it works ok, then you can at least eliminate the graphics chip.

If this model has the small rubber prong that protrudes from the top of the button area (presses in when the screen is closed), make sure this is free moving and not sticking, as this is the screen cut off switch.

Although the inverter is the cheaper of the two to replace, the problem you describe sounds like the backlight in the screen going, consider replacing the screen first rather then the inverter. I have just had a similar problem and blamed the inverter when it turned out to be a failing screen

SONY DSC-T1 CAMERA WHEN TURNED ON PREVIOS PICTURE SHOW UP FINE ON THE VIEW SCREEN BUT WHEN THE THE SELECT MODE SWITCH IS MOVED TO EITHER TAKE A NEW PICTURE OR TO MOVIE MODE THE VIEW SCREEN IS MOSTALLY...

Hi,

Based on the information you've provided it seems that the CCD Image Sensor of the Camera is affected. If the CCD Image Sensor is affected, the images captured may be discolored or with lines on it. Even if the CCD is affected, the previously captured images and icons of the Camera will display normally. You may try power resetting the Camera.

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.
Also try resetting the Camera back to factory default: The RESET button is located at the lower right side of the control button. To reset the camera just press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object.
If the issue remains the same, then service may be required.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Computer will not load up - frozen on acer start screen?

Are you sure the monitor is plugged into the correct port? Also, check the monitor cable for bent pins. A small move shouldn't make this kind of difference. Eliminate that power strip and just plug the computer and monitor into an outlet.

Door ajar won't go out

There is a switch or sensor on the door frame either on the hinch side or on the latch side. Try to activate it with the the car on. With the door open, the door open light should light on, if it is a mechanical switch, push it in, if a sensor, touch it with a steel object, the light should turn off. This means the door switch is working ok. Now try the same again but this time push the switch slowly until the door ajar warning light turns on. This means that the switch works ok. Now, close the door from outside and check that there is no gap betwwen the body and the door line all over the perimeter of it. If there is a gap mainly at the latch side or at the hinch side, it can be your problem. If so, let me know so I can show you how to adjust the door to eliminate the gap.
If there is no gaps, your door switch is to low (too far in), let me know so I can show you how to adjust it.

Fax

Hi,

Often, this type of problem is caused by the paper sensor which is nothing but a small switch activated with the presence of the paper(s) pressing on it, It would look like a small tab/lever that would move (to activate the switch) by the paper pushing against it. You would have to inspect this lever/switch and determine if it would move freely. It is very rare for the actual switch to go bad, often it would be just the tab/lever not depressing deep enough to engage said switch.

Hope that this beof initial idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
