Does it have a removable control head? If so, be sure that it is correctly seated and snapped into place. Also be sure that all plugs are securely seated like power, clock, speaker and antenna plugs. Good luck
Hi, according to the wiring diagram of this unit, the mute wire (brown) is active when you connect it to ground (chassis), so if not used it could be left disconnected because commonly there is an internal resistor to +12V, but it should be wrapped with electrical isolating tape to avoid any contact of bare wire to chassis during car motion.
i thought my banswer went through but i guess not so i'll do so again.Often a defective speaker can cause this problem. So before you decide to replace the unit or repair it,when this happens again disconnect one speaker at a time and see if it doesn't come back on after connecting a specific speaker and goes off if you reconnect it.If it does you've found your problem. But sometimes a speaker doesn't melfunction until put under a strain. So you can also check by seeing if it shuts down at higher volumes and plays longer at low volumes which will tell you also that it is an external not internal propblem.Let me know what happens after the speaker test
i would check to see if a wire is touching the clutch pedal ,when its depressed.either its grounding out on the clutch arm or its a loose connection that is being moved by the clutch arm.
The backlight has gone bad. I have seen this exact problem in SEVERAL other Jensen units.. The backlight might last 5 years, or in extreme cases, maybe 15 minutes.. I have also seen them bad out of the box.
It sounds like the phone mute is going on and off, but I'm just guessing because I don't know your grounds, speaker wire hookup configuration, etc. Look at the screen when the music cuts off and goes back on and if you see a little red phone with the cross through speaker symbol (aka mute) it's probably the phone mute feature which is supposed to be hooked up to bluetooth and mute the stereo when you get a call. Like I said I'm just guessing, but if so there's a brown wire in the back that needs to be hooked up.
my jensen vm9510 ts turns on and you can listen the radio dvd's cd's but the screen do not come out even if you reset it and press the open button, so you can't seen anything is already coded to play dvd's with out eh parking brake. If any one can help me please.
Problem: All DVDs would not play in Jensen MVB85A overhead 8.5 DVD player. Error code: "Incorrect Region Code"
FIX:
1. Use the remote to power on DVD player 2. Ensure there are NO DVDs in the drive 3. When you see the DVD logo screen, press 9653 on the remote 4. A hidden menu will open stating the region code. My region code was set to 0 and my I was receiving the error. 5. Press the "OK" button to change the Region Code to "1".
Once the region code was set to 1 all DVDs were playing.
