No, it will not be undetectable. However, you will keep unauthorized people from accessing your wireless network.

Hello and welcome to FixYa.Com
Locking your router does not make your IP address undetectable to websites that you visit. Locking the router prevents others from picking up your wireless signal and using it to surf the Internet. If you want to make your IP address undetectable, you need to search for Proxies. They mask your IP address so that a website can not see your true IP address.
I hope this helps, and dont forget to vote!

No, locking your router simply keeps people from accessing your internet or router preferences.

No. But first some clarification...

If you are connected to the LinkSys through a home network your computer will be getting an IP address of either 192.x.x.x or 172.x.x.x. This IP address cannot be seen by servers on the internet. However, the one that is for your household which is provided by your ISP can always be seen. This is how the internet knows where to send the information that you request back to you.

How do i track the websites that are being visited through my router?

Enable the outgoing logs under the administration tab and review the ip address that are stored. It's only the IP Address that are stored. I'm not really sure if it can resolve the IP Address. I'm not really sure but I think there are selected routers that have this capability.

I reset my belking 54 wireless router and now I want to secure it again because I had forgotten password. Help

You will have to enter the router's control panel and change the security settings. Here's how you do it:

1. Find your router's IP Address.
  • To find the IP address, 1st open Command Prompt (Start>Run>type in: cmd)
  • Next type in: ipconfig
  • After executing the command (by pressing Enter), a list appears. We want the IP Address associated with the "Default Gateway." (Picture).
  • Next open up your Web Browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc...), type in that same IP address, and visit the website (Picture). (NOTE: Do not add www. or .com! Just type in the IP Address.)
2. Visit the router's IP Address and enter the control panel.
3. Find the area pertaining to WEP or Wireless Security.
4. Enable Wireless Security, set a custom passphrase, then check to see if the same passphrase will allow you to connect to the router from a wireless computer.

I've had a belkin router in the past, so I'm going from memory. If you get lost, but are able to post links to screen shots, please do. I'm certain I can assist you if I see the options we're dealing with. However, I'm also convinced the simple explanation I provided above will also resolve your problem.
