I need the manual to see what all the different settings are because its just shows little icons for the different settings

Assuming you are on Windows 10... if right click on the desktop in a place where there are no icons, you will get a menu.

If you are showing no icons on your screen at all, hover over the View option. A sub-menu will show. make sure that "Show Desktop Icons" is checked.

If you are trying to have the common desktop icons displayed of "Computer", "User Filed", "Network", etc...
the bottom entry on the menu says, "Personalize..."

Click on that, click on "Themes" on the left, click on "Desktop Icon Settings" on the right, then click the check box for every icon you want on the dialog that comes up, click Apply and OK as needed to exit the settings.

If you are on a different version of Windows, the instructions are very similar, you may have to scout around a bit to find how they work in an older version of Windows.

if the notification icon for missed calls is not showing at the top of the screen then open the phone dialer screen. at the top of the screen you'll see a "call log" tab. click on that and you should see you call history, that is calls you've made, missed, or received.

The lock icon means you have switched the "lock" on ...this prevents accidental erasure of files.... if you need the operators manual go to www.olympusamerica.com ...manuals are under "SUPPORT".

There are two reasons one due to the hidden desktop icons and the other due to different user login. If you have logged in using another user ID, try logoff and login to your ID.
If it is due to hidden desktop icons, then right click on the empty area of the desktop, select "Arrange Icons by" on the context menu, and then click on "Show Desktop Icons"

4. Tap 'Show all menu options' icon (page 33 of the manual)

The little lightning bolt on the right side of the function switch (3:00) gets you to the options. If you keep pushing it you will get the different settings. In the manual on Page 68 the different settings are given for the different icons.

If you mean "battery power" icon...you need to go into the "Control Panel" via the "Start"button on the lower left of your screen and adjust your "Power Options" settings in the "Advanced" tab to "always show icon on the desktop". Windows defaults to not showing this icon. You need to do it manually as described above. Once done, it stays that way.

If you don't want to get the manual, here's what you do to fix it. . . . .
*note: you need to do this anytime you change the batteries.

1) open the battery cover
2) on the left side you'll see 3 little buttons labeled a)zone, b)C/F c)reset
3) push the reset
4)push the zone button until your time zone is highlighted on the front display
5) look at the front display & if you see a blinking "radio signal" icon at upper left of time numerals
don't do anything else. The time, date, etc. will automatically synchronize your clock with the US Atomic Clock. This could take up to 10 minutes. As long as the "radio signal" icon is blinking, it's working on it. When the icon doesnt' blink, it's set. Cool, huh?
6) if the area you live in can't receive the signal from the Atomic Clock, instead of a blinking "radio signal", you'll see just a bare antennae. Since you probably set your clock manually, that's what it shows now before you do anything.
7) after you push reset & set the time zone do NOT touch any other buttons to set anything!!! (I know it's difficult to leave things alone, but just sit on your hands). Pushing the "clock" button or the up & down arrows will stop the radio signal & change to manual functions. Look at the signal icon mentioned in 5) and 6) above. If you only have the bare antennae icon. . . . . go ahead & set the time/date yourself. You have no signal.

If you open the Computer directory and identify the drive letter for the WD Passport drive, right-click on the drive folder and select properties. The properties tool for the drive will open showing several tabs. Select the Customize tab and you will see a heading for "use this folder type as a template" with a drop down menu. Here you can select different categories for the folder and apply it to subdirectories also by checking the box below. This should give the folders more of a vista look! If you want to personalize further and add your own images to the folder icons you can also do this here. If you don't select the apply to subdirectories option you can manually apply different styles to different folders in subdirectories. If you don't like the way things have turned out you can also restore the default settings.
