Downloading file such as Outlook Express, microsoft word, microsoft excell

I am unable to download certain files from my desktop computer to my laptop.
For example, I would like to download all my contacts from my Outlook
Express to my new laptop. I am using a 2GB Lexar jumpdrive to complete the task. However, I receive a notice that the path does not exist to
implement the file. What can I do?

I doubt you can download contacts the way you are trying to do:
Try this instead
Your desktop - Outlook- Feom the Menu, select File, Under file, select Import Export
Now export your contacts file as a coma separated file OR Excel file OR any other format you are familiar with. Save the file somewhere.
Goto the laptop, start outlook
This time you import the file from the place you saved. All you contacts will be downloaded as you had them in the Desktop. Hope this will help.

How to open an archive file from mail MS Outlook Express (dbx type), but without MS Outlook Express?

Look at the File menu. Perhaps there you will find "to Open".... It is possible through the import will work, but specify other personal folder (that others mail didn't mix up with yourself mail). File - Import - Outlook Express - the Main record - Review - the Necessary file - OK. I have my mail is almost always through the import downloaded, after reinstalling. Or try using this DBX Open File Tool If you do not want through Outlook. You can find it here http://www.dbx.openfiletool.com/

Is there a simple way to export outlook messages with attachments from one lap top to another

Yes, there certainly is!
  1. Create a new folder on the desktop named Exported Mail (on the Finder, click File, and then click New Folder).
  2. Start Outlook Express.
  3. If necessary, resize the Outlook Express window so that the desktop is visible.
  4. Click the folder that contains the messages that you want to export (for example, the Inbox folder).
  5. Select the messages that you want to export by holding down the SHIFT key, and then clicking each message that you want to export.

NOTE: To select all messages in a folder:
    1. Click one message.
    2. On the Edit menu, click Select All.
  6. Drag the selected messages from the Outlook Express window, and then put them in the Exported Messages folder that you created in step 1.
  7. Quit Outlook Express.
  8. Then transfer the folder that you created onto the other laptop!

When i try to ger outlook express to work it won't

In the Outlook Express folder delete Old.dbx change the file name from Old.bak to Old.dbx
Also, if this does not help, try as a last resort use a special software.
If not important, paid or free software, I can advise this Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Express: http://www.outlookexpress.recoverytoolbox.com/
But before you start worrying try another search solution in this forum: http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/outlook-express/395-something-wrong-with-outlook-express-how-to-fix-it

I am able to get the attment from a particular sender

Please explain your question further ...
"I am able to get the attment from a particular ... "
a particular what?

If you are unable to receive a particular attachment from an individual, it depends on the attachment. Microsoft Outlook Express strips attachments of Microsoft Files. That is if someone sends you a MS Excel spread sheet or Word document, Outlook Express will strip the attachment for security. There's no way around this. The fix is have the person send you their file in .ZIP format. Then you can unzip it locally.

Email from another computer

ok,if you can access the hard drive of your old computer, try to search for inbox.dbx ,outbox.dbx and so on,include hidden files when searching..outlook express uses .dbx extension to compress its messages, once you have it,you can export it to outlook express of different computer,i dont think it can be read by windos mail caus it might be using a different file extension, try downloading mozilla thunderbird,it reads dbx files..
