Sounds like the dryer is overheating. One of 2 possibilities. The dryer vent hose is blocked or partial blocked allowing for heat build up. The other option is that the Thermostat has gome bad or is mal-funtioning. The thermostat works just like the heat in your house it maintains the temperature called for. In the case High heat meduim heat etc, based on the dial postion or cycle you choose

Sounds like it is getting too hot and the hi-temp safety switch opens up until it cools down again. Try vacuuming all of the vent pipes and hose. Remove the lint screen and wash it in hot water and detergent to clean it of fabric softener deposits. Hope this helps!

Gas dryer get hot but than goes cold

This sounds like a problem with your fan motor. The dryer is getting too hot and the gas is shutting off until it cools down. That fan keeps the dryer cool by moving the heat to the clothes in the drum.
You can easily check this by feeling for air flow in front of the exhaust vent outside. No air movement = fan problem = heat shut off in 10 minutes. Good luck

Gets hot and stops. Will start up in 10-15

Your motor is your problem. Sorry about the bad news. The reason you can start in 10 minutes is that your motor cools down enough.

Kenmore Gas Dryer Gets Hot, Shuts Off Early in Cycle

Sounds like a faulty high limit or cycling thermostat. The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a certain temp. It should be mounted on the exhause duct inside the back of the dryer. It should look something like the one in the picture:

Hope this helped and best wishes.

Sounds like the motor may be getting hot and kicking out on the motor overload switch. When it cools down it will reset.
