What would cause a serpentine belt on my 2000 Honda passport to keep coming off?

There could be several reasons why the serpentine belt on your 2000 Honda Passport is coming off, including:
  1. Loose or damaged tensioner: If the belt tensioner is loose or damaged, it can cause the belt to slip off.
  2. Worn or damaged pulleys: Worn or damaged pulleys can cause the belt to slip, resulting in belt failure.
  3. Misaligned or loose belt: A misaligned belt or a belt that is too loose can cause it to come off.
  4. Improper belt size or type: Using an incorrect size or type of belt can cause it to slip or come off.
  5. Engine vibration: Excessive engine vibration can cause the belt to loosen, leading to belt failure.
  6. Engine overheating: Overheating the engine can cause the belt to expand and slip off.
To determine the cause of the problem, it's recommended to have a mechanic inspect the serpentine belt system on your vehicle.

Belt tension troy bilt horse xp 46 lawn tractor

if you just replaced the bearings and now the belt is to loose tells me the belt wasn't put back on correctly. replacing the bearings don't have anything to do with the adjustment of the belt. double check to be sure is is on right Lisa. something isn't right. the tension should come from a spring loaded arm that when engaged it will apply a certain amount of pressure to turn the blades. if disengaged it will seam loose but that is ok. it has to be loose to let the belt slip on the pulleys.

Serpentine belt loose on pontiac se grand am

The belt has an automatic tensioner pulley and no other adjustment is needed or provided for. If the belt is to loose you either have the wrong belt installed or the automatic tensioner is defective.

Power steering went out last nite and battery light came on serpoentine belt is loose

You'll need to replace the belt tensioner as it is probably weak and not keeping the correct tension on the belt.

Getting a 'squealing' noise from the engine all the time. What is the cause likely to be??

Depending on the model it could be a belt alignment problem, loose belt or bad bearing in a pulley. If the squeal gets louder if you spray water in the area of the pulley it is most likely a loose belt. I would start by looking at the belt itself first then spray WD-40 in the bearing area of the Idler pulley and tensioning pulley. If the WD-40 works the problem is a bad bearing. Otherwise it is again, most likely, a loose belt. As a final check you can spray belt dressing on the belt and if the squeal goes away then it is your belt being loose. This could be caused by a belt being stretched over time or a tensioner not working correctly due to a weak spring, if equipped with spring loaded tensioner. If it doesn't have a spring loaded tensioner then you may just need to tighten the belt by adjusting it.

Beater Bar Belt loose and bar won't turn

Provided that the motor isn't loose, the belt should fit tightly. If you had reassembled the beater bar back in the vacuum improperly, the belt would be tighter, rather than looser. If you are sure that the motor isn't loose and the beater bar was reinstalled correctly, then either tha belt slipped back off the motor shaft, or they sold you the wrong replacement belt.

BELT TO THE BRUSH SEEMS TOO LOOSE EVEN WHEN REPLACED

Hoover U6437-900 U6439-900 Upright
LOOSE BELT. THE BELT IS STILL LOOSE EVEN AFTER REPLACING

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The reason it seems like the belt is too big is probable correct, you may have the wrong size belt for your vacuum, use genuine belts – your particular model is a self propelled model and takes two (2) belts and they should stretch on very tightly and snug and it is smart to use the genuine belt package for the model that you have and we Recommended the belt change for flat belt(s) are 4 to 6 months for better cleaning
They should be tight on the belt pulleys in order to do the best cleaning – use genuine belts
