For about a month, while the watch did keep time, the second hand only moved 4 seconds at a time. In other words, it would no move each second, just in 4 second intervals. Now it is not keeping time, either the sec oind hand is stalled, or it will do one second movements about every 5-10 seconds. I'm pretty worried I now have a major (epxensive) problem. Bezels are always screwed tight, but I never take my watches off whether sleeping, exercise etc. Amy insights would be greatly apprciated.

Your watch is fitted with EOL (end of life). This does not mean end of watch life, but end of battery life. Replace battery and watch will work as it should. Rate me, please.

Testimonial: "Didn't realize this was a battery watch!! That's good news, figured I was buying a new watch, or the insides of one, based on the problems. Thanks!!"

My big second hand on my chrono watch does not move

Yes that's common, most chronograph watch's a small subdial is the times second hand. The large second hand is only for the timing function of the chronograph.

My watch is keeping accurate time. The send hand holds for 3-4 seconds then moves the like amount. In other words, instead of moving every second it goes in 4 seconds at a time

It is called the "eol" or "end of life indicator" Not yours! Your battery. Notice the time is still correct. This is a feature some better watches have to tell you your battery is about to go dead.

Brand New Watch second hand won't move. won't keep time.

The watch has a problem in the timing module and the second hand won't move (a cog wheel issue) this is clearly a manufacture defect that can not be remedied and should be returned since it is under warranty.

Watch second had is not consistant on how the second hand moves - it still keeps good time is that a low battery issue

If you second hand is ticking in stutter steps, in other words it hesitates 2-3 seconds then quickly steps forward, and your watch is still keeping correct time that is an EOL (end of life) feature...your cell has become very low and it's the watchs way of telling you to replace the battery. Good luck :)

Second hand doesn't move for each second

Your TAG is fitted with EOL (end of life) feature. This is the cause of that 4 seconds interval movement of seconds hand and thus indicating the time for battery replacement. The timekeeping is not affected by this- it is just warning to replace battery a.s.a.p.
Find your nearest watchmaker and ask for battery replacement.

Do not forget to rate, please.

Watch second hand

I had the same problem with my Tag. Same 4 second jump. It's definitely the battery. I'm surprised at only 3 months, but maybe it sat a while in the display case. Mine was over a year and a half.

The second hand of my Tissot watch T870/970 starts and stops.

Hello!
Absolutely astonished by this "solution" from escapement.
This watch is working perfectly - it is simply giving its "end of battery life warning".
