How do I fix the code p 0303 misfire number 3 cylinder

Change the coil pack from cylinder 3 to cylinder 1. If you get a code p0301 after the swap, then that coil pack is bad, replace it. If you still get a p0303, then check the wiring to coil pack 3. If you have a combination coil pack, then replace the whole unit.

What causes engine misfires to stay after new plugs and coil packs?

Try swapping the coil packs around - like swap #1 with #2, and swap #6 with #5, see if the misfires MOVE with the coil packs swapped to the new cylinders or if they stay with the cylinders. If they move with the coil packs, the new coil packs are bad. If they stay with the cylinders, there's a problem with those cylinders. You DID replace that camshaft sensor, right?

Have you checked your #1 and #6 injectors?

Hi i have 2.4 vvti lpg converted 05 plated previa which 3rd cylinder is misfiring and the throttle is excess about 15% can any one guide me how much the cost to repair it or any suggestions.

i would start by moving the coil packs, take the coil pack from cylinder 1 and put it on cylinder 3 and if your misfire switches to the no.1 cylinder you need a coil pack, It would probably run you about a 100$ for the coil pack

I have a 2001 toyota fourrunner showing computer codes p-0300 & p-0304. What are these codes for?

The P0300 is a random multiple misfire code, the P0304 is specific to the number 4 cylinder, a common problem for this code is a igniter/coil malfunction on the #4 cylinder, each cylinder has it's own coil, what you can do is to remove the #4 coil pack(it's the middle one on the driver's side) and switch it with coil #2 which is the first one on the driver's side, clear the codes and drive it if the code now shows P0302 replace the coil.

Misfiring on cylinder 2+3,replaced oxygen sensor before cat and machine print out still shows oxygen sensor and is still misfiring.

First, call a shop or dealer to make sure the proper plug is on the proper coil location, unless you are POSITIVE that they have not been messed with recently. Then Check the spark plug wires. Also, push down on the plug wires and trace them back to where they originate(coil pack),and push down on them to ensure tight fit.If it's still bad, check the plug wires.Remove them from the plugs and make sure they are not broken. If it is a 4 cylinder, the coil pack may operate those 2 cylinders on one side and 1+4 on the other. If you do anything such as replacing the coil pack, make diagrams of the wire's traced out locations from spark plugs to coils. If you get one wrong,it will be worse. If the plugs have never been changed yet,it may simply be that they have fouled.Greg

My Sentra is overheating. I changed the Thermostat before taking it to the local Autozone and have the check engine light checked out. Well I was told there after scanning the computer that it is a MISFIRE...

First step is new plugs. It's possible that you have a fouled #1 plug. If that doesn't work, check spark wires (if the car is so equipped) or if it has direct coil-on-plug ignition, where each cylinder has a coil pack on top of the plug, swap the coil packs between cylinders 1 and 2. Clear the code, run the car, and rescan the computer. If the code moves to indicate cylinder 2 misfiring, then your coil pack needs to be replaced.

did you replace only one spark plug? that can cause issues because of differences in resistances between cylinders. also, did the map code stay off after replacing

Coil 8 misfire

It if is misfiring on one cylinder. The replace the plug wire first. Make sure plug is good.
If two cylinders are misfiring, then you will want to replace the cap, rotor, or coil pack depending on what you have.
