The temperature cut-out thermostat at the back of the oven has failed. You will need to pull the oven out and remove the back panel. Thermostat should be at the top in the middle. Once replaced oven will be back to normal.

Hi .The oven door will not unlock until it cools down despite the cycle being finished. If it has not opened in a maximum of 1 or 2 hrs then oven sensor failed during self clean cycle and will have to be replaced.Try restarting self clean to unlock door .If not you will have to do the old coat hanger trick or manually move the lock mech. from rear, sensor cost $30-40.Hop this helps .Please rate my response :)

After using the self-clean cycle, display panel went black and oven door stayed locked.

Happens alot dont feel bad , self clean mode runs the elements at 500 deg. to cook off everything possible , what happens is the cabinet gets to hot and heats saftey temp. fuses until they go out and they are not resetable. they are always located in different areas of ranges but usaully in the back. you can ohm them out to check them if you have a meter.let me know if you have any other questions.

KGSA906PSS Kitchenaid slide in gas range. I just used the quick self clean and the display went black and will not come back on and the door is locked.

The thermal switch was bad. I removed the sheet metal back from the oven and there is a small round part with two wires one on each side. You replace it and bingo the door will open and display will come back on. If you do not have he part you can touch the two wire together and the stove will unlock.
