Float switch dripping water onto floor while dishwaser running

You will find that the flood switch will be operating due to the leak, it will most likely be from one of 2 places:
1. Around the door seal, Give it a clean and check for splits/damage, and make sure screws on door hinges are tight.
2. Check the rollers that screw onto the inside of the dishwasher cabinet, The screws on these can come loose and cause water to run down into the base, check they are tight.
Hopefully this helps.

For no apparent reason that I can seem to find, the dishwasher periodically has the bottom full of water. It is not that a cycle was interrupted. It happens between uses. It is clean water and does not...

You seem to have a leaking inlet solenoid valve. It could be a bit of dirt stuck across the seats but it could also be the valve seats that have cracked or worn. Check the valve and replace it if necessary. It is the first component after the inlet pipe.

Too much sink water causes flooding from dishwasher.

If you let it sit with vinegar and it worked after for a while that tells me it may be plugged up with grease. Might be worth while trying to clean it out with Drain O a drain cleaner. Make sure its washed clean after. Grease and dirt builds up after a while in all machines. If vinegar works might be worth cleaning more often.

Maytag MDB4621AWB0 The pump runs but nothing comes out the drain. The hose is disconnected, so there in no problem outside the dishwasher.

This is a typical Anti Flood system activation. This system activates when water leaks onto the floor of the machiene due to a leak fault (pipe/hose clamp/ partly blocked pipe). The machiene automatically switches to pump out mode and stops water inlet. The anti flood system is a polystireen float / micro switch at the base of the machiene floor. Dry the floor and drectify the leak and it should work.

Water flooding onto floor when running.

The most common cause of this is a loose clamp on the pump discharge hose. It could also be a cracked hose, the hose came off (again, loose clamp). Check both ends - where the hose connects to the dishwasher AND where it connects to the sink drain.

Another possible cause is a bad pump seal, although this is less common, and usually open happens when the dishwasher is pretty old.

The dishwasher sounds like it's running but there doesn't seem to be any water coming through.

ANTI FLOOD ATIVATED APPLIANCE WILL ONLY OPERATE DRAIN PUMP IF IT CONTINUES WITH DOOR OPEN THEN THATS THE PROBLEM TRY REMOVING MACHINE AND TIPPING BACK IF WATER LEAKS ONTO FLOOR A LEAK WILL HAVE CAUSED THE FAULT TRY RUNNING IT SEE IF IT REPEATS THE FAULT IF IT DOES WILL NEED SERVICE TECH TO FIND LEAK

Leaking on floor only after shuts down.

Griz, check the vent and see if you have bunch of gunk thats collecting water in it. Sometimes the spray arms are cracked and direct water into the vent. If this happens you will have leaking down the center of the door. Catriver...post back
