The problem actually will happen to all notebooks. Some problems happen on certain models more often. Also, it depends on how often the user closes and opens the notebook.
The data cable is usually the problem and it happens where the most pressure on the cable lies. The data cable will most likely need to get replaced. It is recommended that you take it to a service center. The cost should not exceed $145.00
replace all the surface mounted electrolytic capacitors on the hyper module. also called the scan converter module. this is a common trouble. what a nasty job. good luck.
Hi,
I just serviced this model, same problem as noted. I did a resolder job on the power/drive PC board. This was NOT the problem! The problem acts like an electrolytic capacitor issue or horizontal drive amp. Once I get my hands a service manual & schematics, we'll resolve it. I'll post my results AFTER Super Bowl.
There is a Hyper Module mounted right behind the video inputs board. in most cases you can replace the 10uf surface mounts carefully not to tear the foil. and the set will return to normal. or replace the H/M board. this board is soldered 4 tabs on bottom of main board and then pulls out. good luck list of caps cz52(may not have this cap).. cx261 cx270 cx230 cx178 c514 cx221 cx250 cx241 cx541 cx670
This TV uses small voltage regulators. On each side of the regulators is the input voltage and the regulated output voltage on the other side. There are capacitors used for stabilization on the input and output. Change these capacitors.
you got somes capacitor bothering you, and nop, there are nothing you can do, but call a tech, the problem could be in the video card or in the power supply but is a tech job....good luck
