My treadmill comes on, but the control panel is unresponsive. The only item that responds is the start button, and one other button for hills. It only moves a 1 mph, and the speed and stop button do not respond to the touch.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with your Pro-Form 580X treadmill. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Safety Key: Ensure that the safety key is properly inserted into the console. Treadmills typically have a magnetic safety key that must be in place for the treadmill to operate.
Circuit Breaker: Check if there's a circuit breaker on the treadmill. If it has tripped, reset it. This is often located near the power cord entry point.
Power Source: Verify that the treadmill is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet. Test the outlet with another device to make sure it's working.
Calibration: Some treadmills require periodic calibration. Check the user manual for instructions on how to calibrate your specific model.
Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no obstructions or debris around the belt or underneath the treadmill that might be preventing it from moving.
Lubrication: Treadmill belts may require lubrication. Consult your user manual for guidance on how to lubricate the belt properly.
Control Panel: If the control panel buttons are not responding, it could indicate an issue with the console or wiring. You may need to contact Pro-Form customer support or a technician for further assistance.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's advisable to reach out to Pro-Form customer support or a qualified technician for a more thorough diagnosis and potential repairs.
There would be some problem in wiring harness between motor control board and control panel. Try to remove form both side an reconnect it
If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/
Bottom panel below door remove should have a tech sheet which will tell you how to run a diagnostic and trouble if missing reply with model could be keypad or control
Sounds like a cable harness is undone. The cable feeding the panel which has the computer inside (the power feed) is connected, but the cable from the panel back to the motorized parts isn't. The breakaway is a separate circuit that cuts all power to everything. These are my assumptions (I'm not a nordic track expert), but it's a pretty safe bet, likely the connector in the bottom section. Okay, I just looked it up, first Google "nordictrack 1500 manual" one of the first links is a PDF, with a complete parts breakdown. Depending on your specific model, it looks like there is a connector under the top panel where it meets the right post (and a couple of screws will let you lift it up to check it). It may be partially unplugged, check that first since it looks pretty easy to check.
But I think it's going to be in the bottom, in the bottom of the treadmill the wiring splits to different sections. The motor/incline controller cable (a separate cable #106 on one model I looked up, something like NTL09707 or similar) is probably the one that is either broken or unplugged. So although the computer (up top) is sending signals, they aren't reaching where they need to. Anyway, get that manual, and someone handy with screwdrivers and technology, and they should have it figured out quickly.
hi hope you are well
If start is press it and do not start is indicative the Controller motor board is defective.
However you must sure the motor is ok, test the terminal motor for to see if there are voltages of DC, with DMM, and test too in the motor the thermical protector.
If there are voltages at terminal, the motor is good, the defective is the controller motor board.
Let me know
Blessing
Please adjust the Reed switch, see the diagram below 1/8-1/4" 2) Tight very well the ribbon cable from key panel 3) Tigh the connector from display board vs the lower board(main motor board).4)main motor board.can be faulty. 5) However RUN your software utility for easy diagnose and troubleshooting. see the block diagram attached. sincerely. God bless you. ernesto cuadra managua, nicaragua.
I have a Miele G2830sci dish washer since brand new, used twice a week in a domestic environment. I am very dissatisfied with this dishwasher because the front control panel (touch screen, no buttons) became unresponsive after six years, outside the warranty. I had the panel replaced (part was AUD$290 and labour/callout fee $210) and the dishwasher was working properly again for another 3 years. Now the same issue is appearing again. I believe that these control panels only have a relatively short lifespan relative to the other parts of the machine. The touch pane becomes unresponsive, or erratic to respond to your touch when the panel is warm, typically towards the middle or end of the cycle when the hot wash or drying is occurring. The panel would be OK when cold. But give it enough time and even when cold, it would no longer work properly. It looks like this panel only has a short useful working life relative to the rest of the machine, based on my direct first hand experience. Not good.
With a non responsive remote that would be inpossiable you need to replace the control board inside around $100 bucks then you can have a good tv again but to get to the service menu your controll has to be working.
