Right click on "My Computer" - choose "Manage" - go to "Device Manager" and if you see anything listed with a yellow question mark next to it then it needs a driver.

Where did you get your drivers from? Make sure the drivers are compatible with Windows XP, Vista/7 drivers generally won't work. You can probably get the XP drivers from Toshiba's website.

Hi,

Since you just installed WIN 7, I suggest you check the device manager first.

You can do this by clicking on the start button "Orb" then type in device manager, it should show up immediately.

Then you can check there what drivers you're missing, it should show up with a yellow question mark.

From there, you can right click on the said device and you should have an option to "Update Driver".

This should work if you have an active internet on the computer.

Also, this should help if you cannot do that..

Just download the drivers into your desktop screen and then install them one by one.

The sound driver should work as soon as you install the correct driver.

If you have more questions, you can just ask here.

Thanks,

Oliver

I have a Toshiba Satellite R25-s3503 with Win XP. I want to upgrade it to Win 7. I can't find anything giving the process for the upgrade. Do I wipe the laptop first, then put the Toshiba Recovery and...

The Recovery and Applications/Drivers disk is strictly for XP, nothing on it will work with 7.
You will need first to find out the Win 7 drivers of your laptop . For that installl this progam to find the hardware
http://www.piriform.com/speccy
Then go here
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1364110&rpn=PSR20U&modelFilter=R25-S3503&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663
and download all the corresponding drivers (including those for the Fn keys, touchpad, etc) then burn them to a disk.
Now install Win 7 and when it has finished pop in the driver disk you created and install them all.

Hi,
You will need to install the Fn-Utility from the Toshiba website. You can find the drivers here for your speciically laptop:
http://sell.toshiba.com/partners/b2b/download-center/find-downloads.jsp
Once you have installed the Fn-Utility, you can enable/disable the trackpad using the keys Fn+F9.

I have Toshiba Laptop L300. It does not install xp . however it easily install Window 7

Hi,

Probably because you have a SATA Hard Drive. If you want to install WIN XP, you may need to change your hard drive settings. For this go to the BIOS and change to Compatible Mode or IDE or Non SATA. The Reasons that WIN 7 install with no problems is because WIN 7 has already builtIn SATA drivers on it

I installed windows 7 on my Satellite A135-S4527 and now my card reader will not work, no driver found on system. Where can I find this driver?

The Toshiba Site is the only place I can think of you could get this driver. The problem you will face will be finding it. If the computer did not come with Win 7 Toshiba may not have designed a driver for this device in Win 7. You might be able to locate a Win 7 driver by searching for other machines that were made with Win 7 and have the same device in them.

Toshiba Satellite A135 S2276 with windows 7 Ultimate

  • Hi, when ever there is a [? mark] next to any of the Components in the "Device Manager" there is a {Problem!} The only solution is to "Uninstall the Hardware Device" and reinstall it. Next your going to have to "Update the Drivers," and restart the computer afterwards. To "reinstall" the "Display Drivers," do the following; open the Start Menu, in the [Start Search Window], Type: toshiba, next scroll to find the [Toshiba Application Installer]. Open the window and "Install" the Display Driver. Restart the Computer after all changes are complete.
