My HTC Hero brought up a notification that said it was running low on storage space. When I tried to get out of the notification page, the phone said it had to force a close. It kept bringing up the force close message, so I turned the phone off. When I turned the phone back on, it brought up the Hero screen then the HTC screen, then it continued to bring up only those 2 screens. I took the battery out for 20 minutes, put it back in but my phone just continuously brings those 2 screens up over and over. How can I get my phone to turn on?

Resetting the phone deletes all data, including downloaded applications, and resets the phone back to its initial state. Press HOME > MENU, then tap Settings > Security > Factory data reset. On the Factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone and then tap Erase everything. To reset the phone using phone buttons, with the phone turned off, press and hold the HOME, END CALL/POWER, and BACK buttons. The reset process will start after a few seconds

tip

Adding mp3's for the alarm clock.....

If you are like me, you are not impressed with the alarms that came with the hero (sprint). They were too short, and I slept through all three that I had set. However, you can use any of your mp3's as alarms. This is not a difficult process, but it will involve using your phone as an external storage device, and creating a directory on your SD card.

Connect your phone to your computer and through the notifications screen, mount the SD card so you can see it on your computer. Navigate to the /media/audio directory. Inside the /audio directory, create a directory titled 'alarms'. Copy any mp3's you want as alarms into this newly created directory.

Remember to turn off usb storage from the notifications screen.

Go to the clock function, set an alarm, and you should see those mp3's available on the alarm sound list.

Good luck waking up!

Slow, and internal memory almost full i barely have only like 3 or 4 apps because it wont let me installmore. and i keep cleaning the cache and deleting the texts but it does not help.

this issue appears to have nothing to do with how much space you actually have, whether it's on the SD Card or on the phone - it appears to be a big HTC Mail bug that's just crushing my phone as well, no matter what I purge or reset - there is a long thread here about it -forum.androidcentral.com/.../12215-htc-mail-memory-leak-bug-phone-storage-getting-low-2.html

it's very frustrating and will probably cause me to take back the phone

I am tryin to upload some photos from my HTC hero smartphone to my ps3 but I'm not gettin anything I've been working on this for 3 days and still can not figure it out!

Hi there,

I have a HTC hero,
I have never tried to upload photos from the phone to the PS3 but have done it to my pc
Im guessing you are using the usb cable to connect it to the PS3.
The PS3 should recognise the usb storage device off the Hero

However you must make sure that on your htc hero you flip down the notification bar
and click the button saying enable usb storage

if you dont do this the PS3 wont pick it up

this is the same for the PC so i am guessing this is your problem?

When I try to send a text message on HTC Hero, a window pops up that says "Phone storage is full! Delete some files to free space.

Basically either clear all your messages and then try. If it still says the same message then you will have to clear applications or mulitmedia from your phone to free some more space. I suggest you delete some applications as normally multimedia is stored on your sd card.

Low storage space

Low storage for what? emails, texts, phone storage, sim card storage? In any case all you can do erase stuff you don't want or need. If it's the storage in the phone then download something like Astro from the market(free) and move what you want from the phone storage to the Sim card storage.

My HTC P4350 is running low on free storage space

The system have used nearly the maximum internal memory available: Storage: Total 33.45 MB; In Use: 32.80 MB; Free: 0.66 MB Program.

If you already deleted or moved to memory card your files, that means that the space is taken by installed application/games, or by files left over by previously installed applications.

Save all your files on computer and do a complete reset of the HTC, restoring system to factory settings.
