If you don't have important file in your unit or if you have a backup copy of it , and you have all the installer available, another option is just to reformat your unit and then reinstall the OS and all other softwares you are using.
If your are to reformat though, suggest you partition your hard disk into two. Use drive c to install the os and all your software. Use drive d for your data. This way you can reformat your drive c in case something bad happen and still retain your data in drive d. Note that a failure in the hard disk itself will lose both data in drive c and d so its imperative that you always backup your data.
