Both elements cycle on/off during "heat up". I know they work. Im told by electrician and repairman from Frigidaire that oven will not perform with only 208V service rather than 240.

Oven temp fluctuates

It is normal for the thermal device to turn on and off. Obtaining a steady temp is not always possible. When setting a temperature on some ovens, they have what is called a tolerance point. That means a set temperature has a range of a few degrees up or down. At the Down point, the oven is triggered to energize the coils and bring the interior of the oven back to the settings desired. The other factor is opening the oven and allowing cool air to enter, or in some cases a leaking door seal allows air to enter and heat to escape.

Whirlpool gold oven

One must preheat the oven to the desired baking temperature. If the oven is turned on and the food immediately put in to bake, it will take longer to bake the first batch than the second and subsequent batches, because the oven need a few minutes to heat up.

In other words, the oven isn't at 350 degrees the instant you turn it on. It takes about 15 minutes for the oven to reach 350 degrees. I hope this helps.

Whirlpool gas oven is taking three times as long to cook something, what is wrong?

have you checked with an oven type thermometer for 350 degrees against the setting of 350 degrees,if its off very far then its the oven temp sensor in the upper left middle or right rear wall of the oven thats bad it looks like a small pencil type rod 2" to*' long it merely unplugs off the oven s control panel in the rear, you can test its resistance also to get an idea if it is your culprit, otherwise the oven element could have a hot spot in it and not letting all the current thru to properly heat the element,it will be dis-colored in that area

Kenmore oven - Not heating up

Check the BACK of your temperature knob for an adjustment. I was ready to replace my heating elements when I accidently discovered the adjustment. Made the adjustment and no more problems. My oven now stays within 4 degrees of settings.
