Hello, I installed my 10 kw #5871 guardian yesterday 2/24/11. The propane pressure was checked at all loads and never dropped. It is set at the manuals recommendation. At mid to full load it runs smooth but at low load which is much of the time it is surging alot. The voltage is 244/122. Is there any adjustment to smooth out the electronic govener? Mount the transformer on the generator. Hard wire it into a 120 vac plug. Run wires to the module and connect to the coil on the relay. Now run the load you want to disconnect while the generator is running to the load terminals of the relay in the module.

Check the inlet fuel pressure, on exervise there is no load, when power is out it is loaded and demands more fuel. Also check for bugs blocking gas regulators vents etc

The battery could be bad. Try to measure the battery voltage when you try to start. If the battery is bad then the voltage will drop quite low when the battery is loaded with trying to start the set. If you can borrow a similar battery you could just try with it.

you will need to review which circuit bord controls this and have that board replaced or serviced some of these gen heads have this built in and it will be the rectifier in the gen it self it will be a black 1x1x3/8 inch with a mounting hole in the center and 4 lug post for the wires replace this and your issue should be solved but consult your dealer for witch unit you have as to a control board external or the built in rectifier hope this helps.

throttle motor or governer board. or control board. your gas line could be to small. check the pressure while its cranking to see if it drops. watch the throttle to see if its moving while trying to crank the generator

Did you remember to set the overspeed shutdown threshold on the control board?

You may be able to use these with "standard" DSL, which generally does require PPPoe (a username and password, basically). But you'd certainly need to have an ISP providing DSL service, the correct wiring drop to the device, and your DSL provider would need to support this particular device on their network.

These are not routers, per se, they are really just DSL modems.
