TCL tv- channel nine has no picture but sound? Can I fix it

You can use the RCA style jacks, Yellow for video White for left and red for right audio OUT . Connect the TV end the same way. Note the source input number on the connectors of the TV. Turn both the TV and the Sony on. On the TV, select the input number the cables are connected to and you will see the Sony . If there are no unused places on the TV to connect to then take off the antenna/ cable wire off the TV and put it on the ANT IN connector of the Sony. Obtain a jumper cable wire long enough to reach the TV from the Sony and select either channel 3 or 4 whichever channel is not used in your area on the back of the Sony. Now turn both on and select TV as the source and put it on channel 3 or 4. Now turn off the Sony and change the channel on the TV to any other one in your area. If there is no picture, then the Sony will have to be on while watching TV.

if it is new would send it back, ring them up the place you got the tv from and they will replace it.

Make sure in the menu that you are using cable instead of antenna - then do a channel scan if you are using a coax and not thru a cable box. Have you tried any other inputs to ensure they are working properly? Please reply if you need additional assistance.

Call TCL for a firmware update, which will fix the problem. They will send it out for free, along with a serial cable. You will need a PC or laptop with a serial (RS-232) port to perform the update.
The issue is that WIN, GO and GEM are broadcast on a frequency off-set by 125kHz from normal. TCL TVs cannot tune to xxx125kHZ, only multiples of 500kHz.

A firmware update from TCL will fix the problem. Call them and they will send out the firmware and a serial cable (required for update) for free.
I did the update yesterday and it fixed the problem (sound but no picture).
You will need a PC or laptop with a serial port (RS-232).

I had the same problem... try toggling through the "SAP" (multilingual audio feeds) for the channel. Mine was somehow set on "audio 3 of 3" for that channel, but there were only 2 audio feeds.

The first problem was always standby mode.... get back the original eprom IC 24CO8WP in to the PCB, then find the original remote control of you TCL Tv tcl-14175 then you power On In the Remote control while your TV is in Standby mode! then you see your tv is going ON... Because your unit is in Child lock Mode....

i have tcl satellite tv...the porblem is when i switched on , 5 or more minutes after, the tv unit shut off itself. Sometimes the tv scan its channels first before having picture then shut off after few minutes..varying time when shutting off.....And when using for video movies everything alright....please tell me what to do??...any solutions??..advance thanx to those who could help...
