My dell inspiron mini 10 wont power up at all with charger and only gives me a brief white light when battery and charger are plugged in. Any suggestions

disconnectt the adapter+battery and HOLD the power button by 30 seconds. in order to eliminate any EDS, in the power. And try again.
However if the problem persist, test very well the adapter+battery and p.supply in the c.board of computer for some cold solder contact, etc God bless you

Is it getting power? Check the plug at the computer for DC volts? Has the AC/DC jack in the laptop been damaged due to pulling on the cord? Try another cord/charger with the EXACT same power specs.

The problem is most likely in the DC jack in the laptop, it works it self loose over time until there is no power or intermittent power. The only solution is to dismantle the laptop down to the motherboard level to replace the plug or resolder back in place.

Remove the main battery and try again, also! the power adapter charger should be checked for correct voltage, if okay! pull one stick of ram and test, and the second piece not forgetting to put the first one back and power up, if all this fails you will need to get it assessed.

Try a different power cord. You should have at least one spare. Spare power cords are available on eBay for $10 or so.

This could indicate a bad battery. Try removing the battery and powering on the laptop. If the power LED remains white then you have a problem with the charging circuit. That means your battery could be defective or the battery charging circuit on your motherboard is faulty.

You will need to see if there is problem in the bios back up battery or the memory.If on start up you cannot go to bios settings you must consult Dell support centre.

not necessarily, try removing the batter. faulty batteries can tell the computer to shut down when powered.
