Hello, I have Just Cavalli JC225 glasses. They were too tight and the arms were widened, to stop the glasses being pushed forward. Now they rest too heavily on my nose, causing red marks and irritation. Can anything be done to rectify this problem? The young woman at the local store was supremely confident and totally wrong in her advice. With thanks, Peta

There are a couple of things that can be done to fix this problem. One of the easiest solutions is to have the nose pads replaced with larger and/or softer nose pads. Alternatively, a saddle shaped nose pad can be helpful in distributing the weight across your nose. Most local optometrists should have nose pads available that they can change out for you.
Furthermore, if the nose pads are set at a bad angle they can dig into your nose also. Adding some curl to the end of the arms can bring the glasses closer to the face if they are sitting too low. If you are careful you can attempt some of these adjustments yourself.

You should have been fit in a better style of glasses if you are having this much of a problem with your glasses. When you purchase glasses, a well trained optician should asses these potential problems and discuss them with you. Go to an optical owned by an Optometrist next time.

Toyota camry adjusting front door hinges forward to adjust door

Hello. The right front fender, still, must be removed to gain access to the passenger side door mounting bolts. The door hinges are, probably, 'tweaked' so very minuscule movement can be done. If the door hinge bolt holes are 'widened', then more 'movement' can be attained. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

How do you reset sunroof in a 2001 Monte Carlo with 3400 model I

check fuse and relay if good than possible motor ot track problem their should be a mechanical bypass that will let you close it if stuck open the following information is courtesy of monte carlo forum
To check the condition of your original sunroof guides:
  1. Gl*** in closed position.
  2. Locate & remove 3 torx bolts on each side of sunroof glass. Lift glass out of sunroof opening & set aside in a safe place.
  3. Locate "J" shaped cover plate at front of sunroof track assembly. Remove 2 torx bolts from each cover plate.
  4. Lift up bracket to remove.
  5. Inspect the plastic guides on each side. The sunroof cables attach to guides on front outer corner. Inspect this area closely for damage.
  6. Do not operate the sunroof with the J plates removed.
Troubleshooting:
If the sunroof guides are not broken & the glass is a uniform height along the rear edge your problem may be a stripped gear inside the motor. The motor has a manual override:
  1. Get access to the motor by removing the map light/switch console or lowering the front of the headliner.
  2. Insert a large standard screwdriver into the nylon bushing at the center of the motor hub. Push up & turn the screwdriver to manually move the sunroof glass. If the unit will fully open & close manually, you most likely only need a replacement motor.

If your sunroof is stuck in the open position follow these steps to get it closed:
  1. Remove the glass.
  2. Try to close the unit without the glass. Many times one side will still be operational and close correctly.
  3. Try to slide the inoperable lift arm forward. If it moves, slide it forward until it stops.
  4. You now need to slide the original plastic guide forward to lower the arm to the closed position. Using a standard screwdriver, push it forward. The lift arm should begin to lower.
  5. If the lift arm will still not fully lower, remove the J plate as explained above, sometimes the sunroof cable will need to be lifted up to allow the guide to fully slide forward.
  6. Reinstall glass.

How do you reset the windshield wipers to the start position on a 97 camero? The stop In the middle off the window when turned off.

Pull off the wiper arms when the motor has turned off and the wipers at rest. Realign the arms in the position desired and do a test with a mist of water on the glass. The gear alignment is critical to the way the arm rests when in operation and when at rest.

My drivers door window motor is giving me problems how do I remove door panel

Remove the triangle Piece at top by Mirror, it just snapps off, usually have to dig retainers out and slide back on for installation. then pull your window switch assembly out (snapps out also) watch for retainers falling off. next pull the Bezel off around the inner door handle snaps off, then there is a screw than holds it on and another screw in arm rest if I remember right then after screws are out grab by arm rest and slide the whole panel upwards and then pull off, there are pins that fit in a hole and then they slide or hook over inner door and screws hold in place. I would advise replacing the whole unit or you will be back in there again soon.Dorman company makes a lifetime window regulator assembly/with motor for around $100.00 and there are 4-5 10mm bolts that hold it in place, you can plug the switch to move window up or down to align with the 2 circle holes towards top of door frame, this is where you can acess the 2 10mm screws that you loosen to remove glass from regulator, once clamps are loose slide glass tight in to top of door and put big pieces of masking or duct tape over top of door to hold glass up out of the way while you are removing and reinstalling new assembly, then let the tape off after all the mounting screws are tight and slide glass down inside the clamps on reg. and run window up as tight to the top of door this aligns glass in the channel and then tighten the 2 clamps on the glass and try it couple times making sure it does'nt bind and rolls all the way up. don't forget to plug the motor in !

The Ice maker has stopped working.

There are usually 2 small solenoid valves that are used to control water. Both are generally installed at the rear close to the bottom of the fridge. One of the solenoids controls the water flow for drinks and the other is to control water flow to the ice maker. You can determine which is which by tracing the water supply tubes from the freezer compartment to the solenoid or by process of elimination. The latter method requires that you feel for movement (clicking) or heat on the water dispenser solenoid while someone starts to fill a glass with water from the fridge.

Before going any further, make sure that the ice cube detection arm in the freezer is not up. Gently push the arm down if it is. When ice cubes are ready, the ice maker turns on a small heater to break the bond of the ice cubes to the cube mold. The arm is lifted up and out of the way. Then the mechanical fingers wipe or push on the cubes to dislodge them from the ice cube mold and they fall into the container. The arm is then lowered again and rests on top of the ice collected in the container. The position of the arm when resting on the ice cubes determines whether or not any more ice cubes are made.

If the arm is hanging down, then ice cube production should be on. The problem may be either a faulty solenoid valve (mentioned above), switch in the ice maker assembly - the detection arm in particular or wiring between.

How do i replace a 1992 honda accord drivers front window

IF you scroll over the title, you can see the word "window". Raise the window about two inches. Remove the interior door panel: Remove the inner door handle screw, push the handle forward, pull it out some, unclip the actuating rod, you may also have to unplug the power lock switch. Remove the screw in the arm rest. Remove the plastic plug at the forward upper corner of the panel. Remove the black plastic triangle at the insdie of the side view mirror (it just snaps in place). Pull the bottom of the panel away from the door to disengage plastic clips, then lift the panel off the door and disconnect the electrical connectors. Pull the plastic away from the bottom part of the door (you'll probably end up tearing it). There are two bolts that hold the window glass to the regulator mechanism, remove those and the glass can be pulled up through the window opening. If necessary, the bottom of the window tracks (a screw at the bottom of botjh) can be loosened to loosen up the window.
