Hi,
Welcome to Fixya.
Acer h5360 1280x720 supports Bluray 3D see Documentation. However the Intel 945 Express Chipset Display dont have Pixel Shader 3.0 recommended for optimized visual performance. And like other HD movies you need to use a high definition cables such as HDMI or Component Cables.
Thanks for using Fixya.
Hi,
The current set up will be able to play 3D games because it met the system requirements of the game like the memory the processor and the video however some games have anti aliasing and requires Directx 11 and if you set the graphic to max then it will cause lag on the game. If you want a system to achieve 3d viewing you need a graphic card that supports 3D viewing on you concern on adding Video card on you system that is Asus Eee box b202 unfortunately you can because the system is too small. Thats why it has a built in video card.
Video card have different purpose then can be use for 3D gaming, 3D applications, 3D Pictures, Bluray 3D Playbacks and 3D Movie Playback. You can refer to the list of video card below that supports 3D Playback
You can also see the list here. The last part of the pages shows the list of video cards.
And example of the dimension of supported video card like Geforce 8800 which is the lowest card that can support 3D movie. Dimensions: 270x100x32mm (the last figure is the maximum thickness of a video card). So there no way you can insert the card on the system and it requires PCi-E x16 port on the motherboard. and the Dimension of Eee box is 8.5" x 7" x 1" or 223×178×26 mm (w/o stand). The card is little bit larger than your system.
Best thing we can do to achieve a 3D movie using your projector is to upgrade your system to a desktop with the right video card.
Thanks for using Fixya.
Hi,
For External GPU the answer is No. GPU is connected to a PCi-E x16 port on the motherboad. And your system does not have one.
Acer RL100 is compatible to your Projector all you need to connect to the 2 device is a HDMI 1.3 cable. You can refer herefor the specs of Acer RL100

Hello,
Your computer is compatible of playing movies or 3d pictures. There is no problem in your computer.
Here are the things/criteria that you need to have a great 3D experience.
1. Your computer should be compatible in playing 3D (your computer passed this criteria).
2. The movie or picture should be in 3D format.
3. You should wear a 3D glasses.
If you want to read more about what I am talking about. You can visit the forum where you can find some information about the 3D features of computers and the movies or pictures nowadays.

That computer does not have a gpu and therefore its onboard graphiccs capability is greatly reduced. Not to mention that there are no specs and there are three types of DVI interfaces.

I believe that my current set up is able to play 3D games through VGA, if this is so why can't avi files be played through stereoscopic player.
Regards Matt
Would it be possible to add an external gpu to this pc? It has usb2 and dvi out. Would this achieve 3d viewing?
Thanks
Matt
Hi.I understand now about the gpu, I need a slim form pc and my other option was to buy the acer revo rl 100,(as a replacement) this has nvidia ion graphics and the projector has nvidia vision graphics. Also the projector needs a 1.3 hdmi input. I believe the rl100 has a 1.3 hdmi output as the ion is a 1.3 chipset ? Would you be able to tell me if the two units are compatible, also is there an external gpu that would suit my existing pc instead?
Thanks
Matt
Thanks for your help you have confirmed my thoughts.
