There usually isn\'t a drain button, when the washer is done it drains the water, either you have a clog in the bottom, in the hose, or the drain pump is bad or blocked. Read your manual to see how to check bottom screen and clean it. If you need more help, make a new post with the make and model number, make sure you post the full and correct model number.
Usually
there must be a filter screen in the dishwasher which can cause this to
happen. It goes to the drain . If there is accumulation of food
particles in the dishwasher filter screen then draining may be
obstructed which can cause the water to be stranded at the bottom.
Usually the filter
is located at the back of the dishwasher near the drain. It is usually
held in position by means of clips. You can just pop it out.Pour some
hot water in the drain and clean the drain line also.
If after cleaning this filter also you are facing the problem of water not draining then the drain pump must have gone bad.
filter screen is usually just under where the water comes out. Cover drain so any parts do not get lost down drain. Just unscrew it counter-clockwise to loosen it up. Remove screen and clean by flashing water in bathroom sink until screen holes are clear. then re-install and tighten in clock-wise direction. All done after you check that water comes out again.
Your drain is clogged. Every time it defrosts the water from the defrost should drain out to a catch basin under the ice box. That drain is clogged. You need to access the drain and clear it.
It will be smelly water and if you have access to a shop vac that will help you remove the standing water if not use a bowl or turkey blaster listed below.
Use a small bowl to remove standing water from washer to access screen to remove and check for blockage. Once you have removed all the water that you can with a bowl or cup. You can use a turkey blaster to sucton remaining water from dishwasher.
Then you remove screen and clean out drain and also check drain line for blockage from dishwasher to under sink.
Clean out drain to unclog in bottom of dishwasher and you may have to remove drain line to clean it.
Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section
underneath the evaporator coil. Make sure water drains when you
pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the
unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)
The bottom of your dishwasher should have a big screen in the bottom that covers the drain. The screen and the drain may need cleaning. They can get clogged with grease and stuff over time. I would recommend taking out the screen and cleaning it with soap and water, cleaning out the drain if there is anything in it, and then running the dishwasher with a dishwasher cleaner solution.
on all dishwasher think of them as a simple gutter system. the water only has one drain. At the bottom, if the pump can't pump out the water, its simply a bad pump or a clogged drain hose. Food particle can clog the "drain screen", use a good quality shop vac, clean 'drain screen', remove drain hose and clean thoroughly. If the hose goes into your drain pipe, remove that and clean that really good with snake it its metal or a strong 1/2 zip tie if its plastic.
