I think I got it guys. forget WMP 9,. 10 , 11... I run win xp service pack 2 and could not install the samsung yp-u3 player. I kept having it found as a new hardware {portable device} but as we all know this software has no drivers, and the windows update produces MTP device error. Resulting in you not being able to see your player in XP. Well go to windows update site and search for a file called "mtppk12.exe" I'm pretty sure once you install that file and reboot, you will no longer have MTP device errors. However, I installed this at the same time i installed windows media player SDK. So maybe both files are required. Finally after 2 days of troubleshooting i got mine to work.

Can i ask sometin'? my samsung yp-k3 does not recognize by d comp

Well, in my knowledge the USB cable might of gotten yanked out of the port and one of the 4 cords might of slipped on to the wrong power/transfer contact. If so it might of put out the wrong voltage to the battery and "fried" it so you might need to buy a new battery and cable to make the divice work again. Sorry for any inconvenience

Yp-k3 samsung Mp3 Screen Froze On "Remove Cable"

My daughter had a similar problem - she was frozen at the power off screen. On closer inspection, at the bottom of the K3 on the back of the unit is a reset button (you will need a pin or paper clip to reset it). Pushed a pin in for a few seconds, reset, all was OK.

When I Plug It On My Computer ..

Go to Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Add a hardware at the left menu. Follow the instructions and it should fix itself. You might also need the mp3 plugged into the USB while doing this.

Samsung yp-k3 mp3 player just died on me. It was working fine this morning. Put it on this evening and nothing happened. connected it to computer to charge and nothing is happening. Ive only had it 3...

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Go to the following page on Samsung's website and select your EXACT model number - the part that comes after the YP-K3 - if they still have the software, you will find it there:
