Try to start the laptop with AC charger and battery install in, see if it can work fine, if can ,you'd better buy a battery replacement.

If cant. Maybe the battery is not recognized by laptop.

Power wont turn on..battery led flash orange

Remove battery. Maybe faulty? Try another cord/charger with the EXACT same specs. Reseat the Memory Mods. has the AC jack been damaged by pulling on the cord? Try plug in and at the laptop's AC jack "wiggle" the AC jack plug. Any change?

Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, no power light, battery light flash orange, wifi light flash blue and orange I bought the Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop in 2008. I use the laptop as a desktop, so I never plugged...

Since it sounds like an issue with the Power first try to release flea power.Disconnect the charger, remove battery, press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.Reconnect the battery and charger.Turn on system and check if it turns on. For further help please check Dell Inspiron 1525 Manual. Also confirm if the light on the charger stays on,when connected to the system.

Dell 9400 wont show AC power icon

If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the about10.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Solid green: The battery is charging.

  • Flashing green: The battery is almost fully charged.

If the computer is running on a battery, the about41.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Off: The battery is adequately charged (or the computer is turned off).

  • Flashing orange: The battery charge is low.

  • Solid orange: The battery charge is critically low.
Looks like the AC adaptor is faulty.

Inspiron Battery Light Flashing Orange

Battery.

Dell has a chip internal to the battery programed to shut down after a certain number of charge cycles. This means every time you plug the laptop in with the battery installed. When it reaches this determined number the battery effectively shuts down, even though technically it's still good. There have been loads of complaints on the net toward Dell over this issue. I have myself experience this. Battery good one day, powered down, went home, powered up... only to receive the deadly flashing light. Only cure is to replace battery. Several hacks trying to get around this but they're all horrible. Bad Dell - bad, bad Dell!

Battery light flashes 4times orange then 1green

We had the same problem. I figured out it was NOT the main battery, but the auxilary battery. The batter life WITH the auxiliary was 68% total, when I removed the 2nd battery the battery life shot back up to 98% AND the flashing orange / red lights were gone (both on the power source and off). I then replaced the auxiliary battery with a spar back up to make SURE that it was not a fluke and with the new backup battery firmly in place the lights still did not flash. Problem solved.

I have had three different laptops, last one an XPS from DELL which did the same thing. Replacing the battery solved all three laptops. How old is the battery you have in there now?

My Compaq Presario C500T lap top won't start

Generally speaking, an orange power light indicates problems with the power. You also described to a "T" how a bad battery behaves. To test this theory, take out the battery and plug in the laptop. It should power up and run. If so, it's time to invest in a new battery.
To be doubly sure, if you have anyone with the same laptop as yourself, plug in their battery to your laptop. It should work if their battery is good.

Lap top wont work

Hi

You may need a new battery. I would download software to check the battery.

Does the computer start with the AC plugged in and the battery removed?

Laptop wont power up with Battery Installed

When you don't have the laptop battery plugged in, the power routes directly to the mainboard of the laptop. When the battery IS plugged in, it reroutes to the battery, then the battery powers the mainboard and charges at the same time.

It's likely that the route between either the power board and the battery or the battery and the mainboard is broken somehow. To fix it, you would need it professional stripped down and some soldering may be required and perhaps new parts such as capacitors.

To get someone else to do this would prove quite expensive. Might be worth checking up on your laptop warranty or considering the worth of your current laptop against the cost of a new laptop.
