tell exactly what you are doing and where does it goes wrong

Looks that way,the signal is not getting through the vcr,time for an upgrade

I cannot eject the tape from the LOC position of the VCR. How do we unlock it?

You will have to choose a year that corresponds to the days of the week. In other words, the processor has not been designed to accomodate that far into the futured\...accordianman

Hi Hit the menu button, and look for the word "idioma" which means language, and select that. You should then be able to toggle back and forth between English and Spanish. You may have to look under "opciones config. vcr" which is VCR Setup to find it. Hope this helps, Good Luck!

Hopefully you still the VCR. Your's is stuck in "CHILDLOCK" mode. To release the lock you have to have the remote and press the DISPLAY for 8 to 10 seconds.

The purpose of the CHILDLOCK is to prevent others from using your VCR. If you want to set the VCR back on Lock you again press the DISPLAY for 8 to 10 seconds.

This solution is from the owner manual for HS-U448, so I figure your model is the same.
