Is the gas being injected into the cylinders though! Try spraying easy start or the like into the intake, and see if it starts briefly.

2006 golf starts but soon rpm drops then stalls. will start again but soon stalls

I had a 78 rabbit did the same thing. It was the fuel pump relay. The connector was under size and burnt up. When you star the car on the old Rabbit the pump runs off the ignition switch. Once it starts the relay needs a pulse from the distributor to let it know that the car is running and keep the pump running after it starts. If not the relay times out and pump stops pumping gas. Its for safety so if in a accident and the engine stops the pump wont pour out gas

Why wont start

Ok well there is only two things that make a combustion engine run! If you are getting gas to the fuel rail and it has adequate fuel pressure at the rail then you have a spark problem! Pick up a spark tester( looks like a plug wire in a way but has a light ) Plug it into the first plug on the right side of the motor,(# 1 cylinder) and have a friend turn over the motor. There should be positive spark and the light indicator should light as a constant . If it is intermittent in any way than spark is why u will not start. Then on these years I always start with a new coil or coil packs depending on your type of engine! Hope this helps!! Just my opinion and I could be wrong ! Good luck.

Do you have any suggestions for my 2004 malibu 2.2liter engine losing gas mileage besides cold and tire pressure

poor spark plugs, dirty injectors, poor gas, thermostat opening too soon, how you drive the car, dirty air filter, jack rabbit take off from a stop. just some things that can cause this.

Hi my 2005 NP DID Pajero had a problem with the starter motor which i've replaced with a new one. The engine is turning perfect now but the engine wont fire! Would anyone be able to help me and suggest a...

Although more info would be helpful, the first thing that comes to mind
is that, somehow, the power to to ignition system was disconnected
when the starter was installed. Easy to check... take off a spark plug
wire at the spark plug, put a small piece of wire in the end, and place
this 1/4 inch away from engine block... be sure there is no gasoline or
gas fumes near. Have someone crank the engine and look for spark
from the plug wire to the block. If no spark, may well be the ignition
system (do this in shaded area so you can see the spark). If you have
spark, then the problem is elsewhere.

Where is the fuel pump on an 84 rabbit convertible 1.8L gas engine

Well I tried doing those things but what I thought was the filter, underneath the car just pass the pump in front of the gas tank obviously is not the filter and don't know where the filter is located.

My 84 rabbit, will run great for 20 minutes to half hour, when it gets warm it starts jerking badly, like its not getting gas, and then when I pull over it dies. If I wait a few seconds it will start back...

Well something is leaning out the mixture when warm. I'm thinking the EGR valve is either sticking or its vacuum diaphragm is leaking. the EGR is usually not allowed to work until the engine warms up. The EGR vacuum modulator could also be at fault.

Car wont start

For the engine to run you need gas and spark.
First could I ask you disconnect one plug lead , get a spare plug (if you have one) and connect this to the lead and earth the metal part of the plug to somewhere metal on the engine, ask a friend to turn the motor over and see if there is spark.

Please always have a fire extinguisher handy.and come back to me with the result

thank you

Wont start

Does the motor turn over? If it does, then you need to check to see if you have spark, gas and air. Check the air filter and replace if it is dirty. If the motor turnes over, remove a spark plug boot from one of the spark plugs and plug in a spare spark plug. Ground the plug on the engine and have some one turn over the engine. Do not touch the plug or wire when the engine is turning over. If there is no spark, I would say that the igniter in your distributor is fried or you may need to replace your plugs. Pull one out to see their condition. If you have spark, then remove the intake on the throttle body. Look down the throttle body and have some one push the gas peddal to the floor while turning the engine over. You should see fuel being injected to the intake. If you do not see any fuel, change the fuel filter if you have not done so recently. If the fuel filter has been changed then I would suggest a new fuel pump.
If the car does not turn over then check your battery voltage. If the battery is dead, it will not start. If you have 11+ volts then your starter is probalbly fried. Hope this helps.

Car wont start. I have gas, pump works, i just dont have spark, coil works, rotor turn .

check spark plugs or spark pug wires. These are the most common issues with no spark. 2. check all fuses. 3. check ground or battery cables. If ground is bad it can cause a no spark. Motor turns? or ROTORs TURN? If motor turns your getting spark.
