Color setting i need to set the colors on my tv. my sonn messed with the brightness,tint,color, ect., now everything is green. How do i set the colors back.

You may have a problem with the inverters in the unit, they are responsible for lighting up the back panel. Check or have checked the power supply voltage to the inverters, should be around 18-24 volts DC. Also leaky capacitors on the power supply will cause this issue as well as leaky or puffy capacitors on the inverter.

The color signal consists of Red, Green and Blue. Those three colors, at various degrees, make all the other colors on your screen.

If you have a BRIGHT green screen it's best you don't operate your set.
If it's just tinted green then there is a problem on the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) drive board. Do check your "tint" setting and see if someone misadjusted it. If that isn't it then you need to have your set on an electronics bench and get an estimate for repair.

It could be the tint settings on your TV. Check your TV's settings menu for color/tint options. If you can't find it, break out the manual and look in the index for tint or color, then locate the page and it'll tell you how to get there.

Make sure the tint slider is in the middle, 0 or 50%, depending on your TV.

It sounds like the set has become magnetized. It could possibly be from an external speaker magnet or some other magnetic field (ie. a vacuum motor). It could also be a malfunction in the built in demagnetizer circuit. Color picture tubes are very sensitive to magnetism. Because of this there is a built in demagnetizer circuit. If this circuit malfunctions it can cause the same problem. Turn the set off and unplug it for 30 minutes or so. This will allow the circuit to cool off and reset. Turn the set back on and see if it returns to normal. Also, dropping the set or a heavy jar can warp the shadow mask inside the tube causing the same problem. If the unplugging method does not work, have a shop check it for you. Thanks for using fixya.

see if there is a "default" option, if not set everything back to the middle, if the colors are still off you sure its not the convergence?
most big screens allow you to change "color temperature" it's like a default adjustment for 3 different brightness levels.... ie...COOL, WARM picture will show obvious changes in brightness

Hi, what you do is unscrew and take off the grill, take off the black board behind it. You will see a little box for adjusting RGB you will adjust the screen rgb to get the tint to go away and have a perfect color then you will adjust the focus for sharpness. (reset the tv to factory settings before doing this so that your tint, color, brightness and everything else is in the middle.

lg70 nice tv excellent processor just to bad there is no intensity control on color management oh well still better than what the three s are pushing block out the hype lg will be number 1 in a few years haters are starting to come around and well leds coming,

Take time to get used to the settings, you may think the screen looks dull at first. The truth is most people have way too much contrast on their TVs.

Hopefully someone on here has a manual and can tell you exactly where the tint controls are. Also need to try adjusting the color level, turn it clear down so you have a black and white picture.
Is the picture still green over the screen with the color control
set clear down to black and white? If it does, you might
have an issue with the green gun going out or problem in the
circuitry to it.


By the way, the best way to adjust the picture settings on a
tv are to first turn the color control clear down, then adjust
brightness and contrast for best black and white picture, then
bring up the color level to where it should be and adjust the
tint for best red/green ratio.

I would recommend a Main board replacement.
