Cassettes don't contain 'files' or data.

The analog audio can be recorded to a CD.

For this specific model, it's all in the manual...

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

No usb on this one.

I need to know how to record from a cassette to a cd

A cassette tape produces an analogue audio signal but a cd is a digital device, therefore the output from the tape must be turned into one of a few digital files before it can be written or burned onto a cd.

Various stores sell various modern devices, music centres, hi-fi and suchlike purpose built for the purpose of transferring audio from tape and vinyl to cd. Link below is the results of a google search.

The big problem is usually a loss of sound quality which can be minimised by using a high quality tape deck and impedance and sensitivity matching it to your computer or other device(s) depending what method you choose to use.

In the case of poor quality the sound can be enhanced somewhat by using any one of dozens of sound processing programmes.

Why doesn't it record?

I had a lot of problems with the blank CD's and tried a lot of blank CD's. After doing many hours research I finally found that the 'Memorex Brand Music Digital Audio" blank CD's were all I could find that would record from cassette to CD. You may find other brands that work but the key I found was the words 'Digital Audio' and many posts said the same thing. I bought mine from America from 'SimplyBestDealsOnline'. Really hope this helps. Susy.

CANT TRANSFER CASSETT TO CD

Hi Margaret,

You can download the manual for this device here. The downloaded file is called "ad-rw900.pdf" and should be found in your download directory.

Locate and open the file (Adobe Reader) and review page 31. Here you'll find the details to go about recording a CD from the source you've selected with the "Input Select" button. When recording to a CD-R or CD-RW with a cassette TAPE (or LINE IN or PHONO) as the source, you must manually set the recording level as directed in step 5 on page 32. Check the blank recording media. The device is ONLY capable of recording on "CD-R" and rewritable "CD-RW" blanks (these are very different from DVDs of any type). The CD-R type will likely enjoy wider compatibility (than CD-RW types) when played back on a different (car or other) CD player.

I hope this helps & good luck!

I CANT RECORD CASSETTES ONTO A FLASH DRIVE

You can't. Cassettes are analog and the USB only recognizes MP3. The USB will only record off a normal CD or a CD with MP3s on it. It won't record other formats. The unit only allows to record from CD to cassette or from CD to USB. There are some cassette decks that will convert to MP3. Just do a search for "cassette to MP3 converter"

Casette to disc

to convert music from cassett to disk u need to connect the cassett player headphone jack / line out jack to ur PC/laptop mike / line in jack....then play the music and record it in a software(Nero Sound editor etc)
then once that's done save it as mp3 file on to ut PC and trf it to ur cd/disk....u can just copy it as mp3 or create a music cd using Nero...from the mp3 file
the difference is if u just copy the mp3 on to the cd then only a mp3 player/mp3 music system deck can play it... if it's created as a music cd then any cd player can play it....just like any music cd that u buy in the mkt...
a 700 mb disk can hold almost 7 to 10 hrs of music in mp3 format....
but a music disk can hold only 80 mins of music

Connect audio components for recording Cassette to CD

Try this since you do not supply model numbers. If your receiver and CD have digital audio connector (coaxil or fiber) hook the receiver output to the cd input.

If you do not, see if there is a spare set of RCA jacks for output. If not, just hook up the cd player in the cassette jacks-there is always a cassette in and out-and hook your cd player to an auxillary input or use the cd player input.

Remeber though, cassettes have inherently more noise than cd so your cds will not sound like a pre-packed cd.
