Hi Can I fit disc brakes to my sones Giant MTX 225?

Not unless you see the tabs required to mount traditional standardized disc brakes on the fork and left seat stay.

Converting this bike to disc will cost you more than the bike is worth. Get a bike with disc on it.

There are some schemes for adding disc to non-disc-compatible frames but they're Rube Goldberg solutions. And you still need to get new wheels and new brake levers if you're going with hydraulics.

My son inherited a Giant MTX 225 bike (I think a 2004 model). How do you adjust the handlebars closer to the seat (my son has to lean forward to reach them and it puts his back in an uncomfortable...

Stem length is the only dimension that can be modified, assuming the bike is not TOO long. They don't adjust in that direction but a Bike Shop can work with you to select one with a shorter reach and/or a different rise if necessary.

If your son has any desire to ride faster than 15mph or so for prolonged periods he's going to have to get his torso down and out of the wind, so a leaning forward postion would serve that goal.

2 MTX Thunder Problem.. Bridging?

Is there a option on the chanels that say ''Bridged''? If so, you can hook the subs up in parellel or series to get different ohm loads. Usually the lower ohms, the more power amp puts out. Those subs can handle 225 watts RMS whitch means the power it can handle constantly. If the amp gives more than 225 watts RMs, you could be at risk of blowing the sub. If you could give me the model # of the amp, I can be of more help.

I have a mtx thunder 421d. I've had it about 5 years, about a week ago it started going out from time to time. I checked my hot wire and fuses, they are ok.Now the amp stop working, and dont light up. Will...

If you have proof of purchase(invoice or receipt) showing the purchase date and you are still within the warranty period then yes it would be repaired by MTX under the warranty guidlines, and by the way MTX is great at customer service and they are great to work with(very fair)!!!!
Keep in mind that the seal on the bottom of the amp cannot be broken or that will void warranty coverage.
Give them a call, you will be glad you did!

I have one mtx t4510-04..what amp do you

Hello jandytaala,

The recommended power range for you T4510-04 is 112.5 to 225 watts RMS. So you need a monoblock amp within that range. You could go up to about 300 watts RMS, but watch the gain and don't try to get too much from a single 10" sub.

The Orion Cobalt shown here would be a good match and is only $139.99. For another $60, the Alpine MRP-M500 will output 300 watts into 4 ohms.

Hope this helps.

Fast blinking red light

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Good L .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. MTX Audio
