Multi Region for LG DV398H

I am living outside the US and looking to  buy LG DVD player DV398H and want to know if there is a way to make it region code 0 so I can continue to use it when I return home. Thanks

  • Mabroukh Apr 10, 2009

    I have a region "2" LG DV398H, I pressed 000 and then 0 and finally pasue but I'm still getting "Check Region Code" for region "1".

    While doing that, nothing appears on the TV or DVD player.

    Any suggestions.

For 'all' LG dvd players to break coding follow these steps.
it worked for me, i was told it works for all LGs...
step 1- POWER ON "NO DISC" appears on screen;
step 2- press PAUSE, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9;
step 3- "CODE_ _" appears on screen;
step 4- 0, PAUSE, then POWER OFF!!!
that's it, good luck guys! hope it works

Want to know how to set my LG dvd/hdd player to multi region

IF there is a code for it you will have to check on some of the sites that have region hacks for DVD players. Not all players have the capability of changing them to region free. I looked to see if your model was listed on a couple of the sites that have directions, info and or firmware updates to change region settings on various makes and models of players, and I didn't find yours listed anywhere. It may use methods from other LG models, but you have to do a little research, some google searches and a little trial and error. Keep in mind that applying these hacks can render your unit inoperable and not recoverable. You might want to look into getting an inexpensive player from Phillips, Durabrand, Apex or one of several other manufacturers that are easy to find codes for and simple to change region coding, and in alot of cases cost less than 50 USD. Phillips are the easiest to get codes for and they are reasonably priced in most department stores like Target and Walmart or at Best Buy and Circuit City. Durabrand are Walmart brand players that cost 25 or 30 dollars and they are easy to do as well.

Hope this helps

Dvd player

Most of the DVDs available in India mostly use Region 2, Region 4 and Region 5 codes, all together in one DVD.

Education on region dvd codes:

If you want something on the cheaper side try a Philips DVP5982 Multi-Region DVD Player.

hope that helps!
